The delay of NCW was the best move CDPR could have made right now.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 02:36 PM PDT

I know a lot of you are hurt and very angry right now because of the delay of Night City Wire but hear me out:

The current situation in America is dominating headlines due to the weight their own Media is putting on the Situation.
No, just because CDPR decided to delay NCW because of the riots, does not mean they do not care about other countries.
In the end, CDPR is a company. Night City Wire is a advertisement for the game (big surprise there) and this is where I can see why they decided not to do anything right now.

They would arguably be the biggest source of news to come out in the general video game news cycle and can you guess what would happen if a publication that DIDN'T like CDPR would say to that ?
We all KNOW the headlines that would come out of this.

"CDPR IS EXPLOITING AMERICAN RIOTS TO ADVERTISE GAME"
"WHILE AMERICA BURNS, CDPR IS ADVERTISING THEIR NEW GAME"
"OPINION: CDPR IS EXPLOITING A SOCIAL MOVEMENT"
    ..you know what I mean.

Not to mention that Mike Pondsmith, you know, the literal creator of Cyberpunk 2020/Red and who had massive involvement in the creation of the game, is a black man ?

Following this sub made sure made me realize that there are probably people who think Elon Musk made Cyberpunk at this point.

Stay calm, stay patient. We got trough this for 8+ years, what will 2 more weeks do ?

    KABAYAN FOODS: a pleasant surprise

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:32 PM PDT

I was eating a red hot dog on a stick, rewatching the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay, looking at all the colorful signs and shops, posters and details of the streets and was pleasantly surprised to see this brand or restaurant present in Night City called Kabayan Foods.

Kabayan, to the best of my translation ability is the Filipino word for compatriot, or comrade. More literally fellow countryman. I was tripping tf out because the red hot dog I was eating is a Filipino brand weenie. If you know, you know.

Anyway, the last time I saw something like this was an ad for San Miguel Beer on a billboard in Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. It read "Pag mahirap ang buhay, uminom ng San Miguel!" Which translates to "When life gets hard, drink San Miguel." Seeing that ad in a war torn Filipino province was something that stuck with me.

Got me thinking about what type of ads we will see in Cyberpunk 2077 as I've always had a thing for posters and ads in video game worlds like fallout and bioshock.

This got me even more excited to explore Night City's streets itself. (Now I'm thinking about street food) I only hope that the world doesn't end by the time this game releases. That phrase sounded like some bad joke when it was first announced but during these times I actually fuckin' mean it, choombas. Thanks for reading some thoughts.
