Warning! Don’t buy prints of artwork you see posted here Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:36 AM PST More often then not the artwork has been stolen, and is being used to make a quick buck by a talentless scammer. The links come in two forms, either it'll be a direct link to buy a print from a dodgy website, or someone will steal original artwork and post a link within the comments of the artwork. They want you to think the money goes to the artist, but it never does. Best case scenario you receive a shitty print of someone's work; worst case scenario you receive nothing and have your information stolen. If you like someone's original artwork your best option is to message them directly and work something out with the artist. However in this instance make sure you use PayPal's 'Goods and services' option so you're covered against bad actors. The original artwork that gets posted here is some of my favourite content. Some of them are legitimately breathtaking. If people keep having their artwork stolen though they're going to be less inclined to post here. Don't let some talentless scammer rob you of your money, or worse, steal your identity. Please just report the post or comment so we can remove it and ban the offending account. A Hidden Detail About Spider Murphy, the Netrunner on Johnny's 2023 raid Posted: 26 Nov 2021 01:22 PM PST Hey Chooms, I've been looking over more Cyberpunk lore and cross-referencing, making notes and such for a project I've been working on, and in the process uncovered a detail I've yet to see mentioned anywhere at all (and I've searched around). I haven't even seen these images posted anywhere, and if they are, they aren't posted in relation to what I've seen here. Anyhow, my interest was first piqued when reading through Cyberpunk RED. During The Fall of the Towers, the section about the Arasaka Tower raid at the end of the Fourth Corporate War, while hacking into Arasaka's subnet, Spider comments that (the currently totally-wrapped-up-in-his-emotions-and-fantasies) Silverhand changed his hair. (FYI, Cyberpunk RED is canon, and what happens in Fall of the Towers supersedes what happens in-game in Johnny's memories) Johnny responds to Spider saying that she cut her braid: This line didn't mean anything to me at first, but it did sit in my mind and stew around, eventually coming up later when I read some other materials. Now, In-game, Spider Murphy appears on the raid and is the one who both helps Johnny enter the building and aids him in uploading the protocol to the subnet (lol like he's doing any netrunning). During the raid in 2023, she's wearing a combat netrunner suit for cooling, a ballistic helmet of some variety (sensible given she's not a solo) and an infovisor. This is very reminiscent of the suit classic Spider wore, likely meant to represent that in the new artstyle: Right, decidedly no braid. Okay, so that makes sense, but it also implies she originally had a braid, doesn't it? It does, but for the longest time, I had no clue as to who the hell that could possibly be. ... Now, I'd read Cyberpunk 2020's corebook before, and I'd seen this character, but was never able to put together two and two about who it was. None of the descriptions on the "Some Personalities of Night City" page match up with the image on the page, and there's no caption, leaving me quite stumped. Said character appears as such: I forgot about this image for the longest time, still unaware of who the hell this could've been, but it must've stuck because it was what jogged my memory. This, by itself with no additional text claiming it's Spider would be quite weak. "Oh, she's got a braid, got any other proof it's supposed to be Spider and not just one of any number of women with braided hair? No? Bye!" But there's more. In Rache Bartmoss' Guide to the NET, released posthumously by Spider on behalf of Bartmoss, at the end of the book, some stats are listed with blurbs. In 2020, people use ICONs on the net. Think Ready Player One, with a character model/appearance that you can change and configure to your preferences. Spider's ICON is noted to be a "rather 'well-endowed' Japanimation-style icon". Ok, so we're looking for, at least, an anime girl icon with braided hair. Well, when reading through Firestorm: Shockwave, the book detailing the second half of the Fourth Corporate War (The Hot War and End Game), there's a section describing what happened to the net during the war. Similarly to the 2020 corebook's issue, there's an image without a label, otherwise unspecified who it is. Fortunately, this time, there is a label of sorts and it's on the arm of the ICON in the background: Bingo! That's it! It's literally labeled Spider (on the ICONs arm), meaning that this character has to be Spider Murphy. So now we know, this is (canonically as far as RED is concerned) what Spider Murphy would have looked like in the 2020s when not in the raid combat getup (albeit expect her look to be tweaked if it appears in-game). The more ya' know. I just wanna say holy shit, thanks CDPR for putting so much detail and care into this. I've been digging through past lore about all sorts of things, and so much of what's in the game can be sourced back to parts of the books, or other official sources. Another example is Drausin, the ringer Nancy got for one of the roles in A Like Supreme (the concert). Drausin is from Cutthroat, a band whose first mention was in an article in Cyberpunk 2013's book, Welcome to Night City, released in 1988. It's fascinating, and I wish more games could do lore in this way, or this extensively. [link] [comments]

Loot system makes this game feel less immersive to me Posted: 27 Nov 2021 09:49 AM PST I wish this was more Fallout 4-esque where you kill an enemy and the gear they have on is the gear you can loot from them when they die. Killing an enemy and them having completely random loot that sometimes contradicts what you see on their person is a big immersion killer. Also, being able to pick any and everything up with no consequence is another one. I walk into someone's room and start swiping Eddies right in front of their face with no reaction whatsoever? Kinda weird, an "ownership" system would've been logical. This game wants you to be immersed in its setting while doing everything possible to not facilitate that immersion. [link] [comments]

I’d like to give a warm welcome to all the new players Posted: 27 Nov 2021 08:16 AM PST I've noticed a recent influx of new players to Cyberpunk 2077 and to this subreddit, likely due to the recent discounts for Black Friday. I wanted to welcome all you new players both to Night City and to this subreddit. While the game is not perfect, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with what's there and, if you're on pc, there's many mods you can download and have fun with, too. This subreddit has thankfully calmed down since the game launch nearly a year ago. Most of the toxicity has left, leaving the remaining passionate community to do its thing so feel free to share your experiences, feats and cool photos. I hope you have fun and wish you all the best "Welcome to the City of Dreams" [link] [comments]

Some ideas I would like for the game Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:49 AM PST V's Apartment: - Ability to buy new apartments, ranging from cheaper megabuilding apartments to buying higher quality ones like Sandra Dorsett's or the apartment in the Sun Ending - The ability to customise apartments, changing wallpapers, floors, adding decorations, maybe also adding extra utilities - such as installing a bath which can grant you certain boosts after having one, a weapon cleaning device in the armoury which can grant boosted damage for a certain amount of time - Some apartments will have a braindance room or lighting setting which allows you to have certain bonuses after watching a braindance - Purchasable record player so you can listen to vinyls you find throughout the world and can possibly purchase songs you like and have them playing in the apartment. E.g. when 'delicate weapon' releases in game after the lizzy wizzy questline, you can purchase it from a street vendor and have it playing ad background music in the apartment instead of relying on the radio - The ability to change makeup in the apartment by looking into the mirror New gameplay systems: - Implementation of flathead and other combat machines which have different abilities and can aid V automatically or manually during combat and stealth, such as a flying drone - The ability to purchase braindances from street dealers and to play braindances you find throughout the game. The majority could be entertainment, blackout bd's and sexual bd's but some could maybe lead to a questline (for an example, rescuing kidnapped people who you found through a bd) - The ability to have vanity cyberware, choosing weather we would like realskin or to go chrome, maybe we could keep our arms real skin but alter our legs and torso to be chrome. Being able to change the colour of the chrome to a wide variety, maybe even having patterns and engravings. This could even go as far as to changing the shape of the mantis blades or the blade colour - the more options the better World: - More open buildings, megabuildings looking different from each other - New open world activity: Siege. Some previously locked apartment buildings are now open, each floor infested with gang members. Choose your approach into the building, going stealthily through windows? going all out through the front door? maybe climbing your way around the building and letting your flathead do all the work as you control it from outside? Either way, youll have to clear the floors from the bottom all the way to the top, giving it a wave-like feel. when you get to the top, there'll be a bossfight and a reward would include receiving a new combat robot, this is how you obtain them. These could be in Pacifa only to give it the feeling of being overrun with gang crime - making it unique with this activity. - Vehicle garages for customisation, change your wheels, tires, spoilers, trims, paint job, light colour, acceleration - much like the vanity cyberware, just go crazy with options - You can customize your V's face and body as well as hair by visiting a ripperdoc - More random events and more joytoys dotted around the map instead of just 2 in the entire city Relationships: - Completing Judy's relationship allows you to access her illicit braindance collection which she gives you access to in order to rescue the people in them. These will act as new gigs, with Judy talking to you over the holo as the operation progresses - Completing Panam's relationship allows you to get advanced vehicle customisation, being able to increase your speed and handling even more, as well as specific new appearance options - Completing River's relationship allows you to receive very powerful weapon mods from him - Completing Kerry's relationship allows you to receive unique vinyls his such as his yacht song and other projects he may have had as well as unlocking some past audio logs of him and johnny - Dating system where you can choose a bar to go to in Night City and there will be pre-recorded dialogue with Judy/Panam/River/Kerry, you can choose wether to return to their apartment or yours afterwards and choose whether to continue talking, engage sexually or leave. This would take a lot of writing and scripting and some new animations but I think it'll pay off as you'd be able to continue the relationship instead of getting really close to them at the end of their questline and then things feeling empty afterwards. Other additions: - More weapons in each category, especially LMG - More cyberware - More takedowns, environmental takedowns. (pushing enemies out windows and slamming them against walls) - Fixing transitions between animations, V and other NPC's would no longer feel or look stiff and animations would smoothly transition rather than clipping - this will make a big change and make the game feel a lot less janky - Increase in game difficulty, even when not specialising in any skill tree, I feel as if the gameplay isn't challenging enough Tiny additions: - Adding road marker GPS cyberware - Adding flashlight cyberware - Being able to purchase the 'Jackie Welles' at the Afterlife - Being able to skip the braindance tutorial similar to the T-bug tutorial - Adding cyberware which changes the UI of the game, so we can experience the game with the E3 demo UI - V having animations for pressing elevator buttons, drinking and eating - same length as using medical items - Being able to play the new weapon animation at any time I think adding these as well as increasing the general stability of the game going forward until we have to look for bugs to find them could increase the game's replay-ability and entertainment as well as immersion factor by a lot [link] [comments]

To my surprise, one of the best games I’ve played Posted: 26 Nov 2021 03:26 PM PST I was mad skeptical about this game at first, but a couple months back I bought it when it was on sale for like $40 bucks. I wasn't expecting much nd I was honestly blown away. To preface, I like to write and read a lot. So when I started tha game nd went through tha tutorial I was ecstatic. The world building in this game deserves its own thread, from tha slang down to tha names of clubs and their aesthetics, it's all done really well. Another thing that blew me away was tha writing for plots. Tha main story is different from many plots that have been told in recent memory. What couldve been an easy game of just you and Jackie doing jobs nd rise up to tha status u have at tha games beginning was actually you tryna save yourself from a malfunctioning chip that contained a ghost of Keanu Reeves. Not to mention the side quest have just as much care into their plots and writing as tha main story. Tha ones that always stands out to me is tha delamain taxi missions and tha vending machine. Sentience in AI is usually displayed a la terminator types but this was different. From a taxi cab suffering existential dread to a vending machine being friends wit it's customers, this topic was done differently which I really appreciated. Overall, the good outweighs tha bad in this game and the updates have lessened that gap. I have easily put in 80 hrs into tha game and still haven't beat it as I want to do more, which is rare considering I like to finish games fast. 7.5/10 game I'd give it a higher score once bugs nd misc. stuff is fixed up, my biggest gripe is tha lack of npcs nd cars when driving or walking around night city. Other than that, it's solid [link] [comments]
