Hey! This is our weekly Cyberpunk Lore discussion megathread.

With free talk (aka memes) being allowed across the weekend, discussions about the world of Cyberpunk can often be drowned out by memes & media posts across the weekend, so we hope this thread can help keep them going without being lost!

Some Filmic Shots I Captured on PS4 Pro

I like to roleplay like all citizens in NightCity have been hacked by Arasaka to make them more stupid so I can forget about this game AI being so fucking bad.

Love the game in general, but the fucking AI man...

Game is NOT in a good state right now.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 06:25 AM PDT

While I kinda enjoyed it, CP lacks many promised features and trying to shove statements like "game is in a good state right now" down our throats is atrociously enraging.

No NPC AI at all, they barely react, no life routines, no nothing, this was a big sale point to me and I believe many people.

Still can't change hairstyle, to hell with 'you can change your body in night city just buy a new' one bullshit.

Bugs may have been toned down and that's appreciated, but CDPR needs to work on features we were promised. It just got me real angry to hear them saying it's in a good state right now.

    It's not.

Hope we still get a good game in the future, feel free to criticize me and or add to complaints.

    Have a good one folks.

Would Panam be so popular, if Judy was available to male V?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 11:57 AM PDT

https://twitter.com/CyberpunkGame/status/1398277896305709061- 68% of players chose Panam as a romantic option, which implies, that even more chose male V(it's not that suprising itself, rather than the scale, which is pretty significant). Panam is basically the only romantic option for a straight man(probably the majority of CP players) or one of two for bisexual one, so I wonder how would it look like, if we could choose, like in the Witcher 3 with Triss and Yen(at made Panam also romanceable for the female V too)? Characterologically Panam is far more impulsive and agressive, while Judy is neurotic, so it would be interesting, which one would attract more people. Judy had a much bigger marketing before the release, so I'd bet, that the majority would romance them both or if the game made us to choose(like the Witcher did) I'm not sure-as I said before Judy was far more popular before the release, but it turned around drastically after one- I wonder how much of it is caused by the simple fact, that male V can't romance Judy and the significant amount of CP players didn't even have a chance to experience it.

Yes, Cyberpunk is ironically my favourite game.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 07:56 PM PDT

SPOILER ALERT: Here me out, Cyberpunk 2077 is a disaster in term of it's launch. I bought the game during patch 1.1 on my Xbox Series X. This was my first CD PROJEKT RED game I've played and I was excited to say the least. The feel of a brand new open world, especially one that is set in a blade runner esk future, is very interesting.

So I started my play through as a male nomad and at first the story wasn't too interesting and actually a bit confusing. All until Johnny Silverhand came in. Holy fucking shit a masterpiece unfolds in front of my eyes, a deeply rich storytelling type immersion rushes through and exposes the true colours of CD PROJEKTS perfections. At this point of the story I haven't seen too many bugs and throughout my whole play through, I never experienced any game breaking bugs. My favourite moments of the game came from Johnny breaking into Arasaka Tower, the Heist with Takemura, The Rescue of Sandra Dorset, and the end of the story.

I had more moments of connection to these characters with the side quests. Chippin in, Kerry Euridine story, Panam's story/romance, Judy's Story, Jackie's passing and family connections. Believe me when I say this, Cyberpunk became my favourite story telling game after these few side quests. The dynamic storytelling mixed in with the beautiful art of the city makes a beautiful mix of perfection. Disagree all you want but Cyberpunk has THE best storytelling ever.

Ending: I chose the Arasaka ending which became my worst mistake. Finished the game on patch 1.1 and didn't see to many game breaking bugs. The Arasaka ending was sad and very weird too. I don't recommend it. I plan on doing a second play through as female V being a street kid and pursuing the secret ending with Johnny. V will never fade away.

The Poser Gang known as Valentinos/Valentino's

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 02:16 PM PDT

I was unsure whether to post this on this sub or the Cyberpunk 2020 sub but I noticed this when reading the cp2020 Night City Sourcebook in which Valentino's is described as:

This is a poser gang dedicated to seducing the most attractive women in Night City. The more unobtainable she appears to be, the more attractive a target she makes. They do not maintain any turf, and have no goals outside of seducing women. They are generally harmless to anyone except the husbands and boyfriends of very attractive women in the city

Obviously something has happened over the course of 57 years to make them change so much. Just wondering if any of you noticed that or had any lore explanation for it. Also do you guys have any ideas of why CD Projekt Red used this specific gang rather than making a new one or providing an interesting explanation of what caused them to change so much/gain so much more power (such as in the case of the Voodoo Boys)?

YOU Are the Relic, and the object of the game is to figure out who V was.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 08:30 PM PDT

Ive played through a bunch of times and the game seems to not make much sense when you first play it, probably because you don't read much of anything however one gig i was playing "Dancing on a minefield" i decided to read the shard and when you actually READ THE SHARD on the body by the car it says Militech was looking for the car. Well ive played through a bunch of times like i said and ive never encountered militech on that gig until i read the shard. That prompted me to start reading the shards and my journal. When i started reading the journal i realized that it was the voice of jackie welles and i remembered he put the relic in his head first. I remember misty saying that the tarot cards were a journey and it could be speaking to silverhand or you. Its neither shes talking TO THE RELIC(you) the game is only as real as you make it literally and if you read terminals amd everything you realize that its way more than johnny silverhand on the relic and your attributes determine what kind of V youre supposed to be. Also the Relic is damaged thats why you only get flashbacks from V because V is literally dead and its just the relic controlling her around (aka you) all the gigs and police activities are activities you completed with jackie and tbug but the relic doesnt know that and you need to find out who V was so you need to do them on your own before completing any main mission truly otherwise youre just damaging the relic further than it was. For the record ive found that v was a "cold blooded" corpo woman who was also a vegan that never killed unnecessarily, but since youre the relic V can be anone you want them to be but the tarot cards rep different endings and 90% of people never made it past "The Fool"

    I miss Cyberpunk 2077

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 09:10 AM PDT

I find myself opening the game and then closing it. I love it and want to keep playing, but I don't. CDPR made bank on CP2077. Add the missing features we were promised and at least some DLC shoulda been released by now. Get your shit together, so I can play again. Please?

I don't know about you guys but one of my only complaints from cyberpunk is the club music is so loud and I love it but my damn car radio sounds like a 2002 minivan with punched in speakers.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 09:16 PM PDT

Recently I have been listening to a lot of the music from the Dirge in my real car in real life which has subs and I love it, but that's absolutely beside the point. I hate that the value in your car for the music is so low and quiet. Not to mention if you turn off music in the settings it doesn't just affect the score music but also any type of music in the game. I really like to try to immerse myself in games I play so I always turn the music all the way down but if you do so in this game any music you come across in any area just isn't there turned all the way down. Eh just a little rant.

What I would really love as DLC at this point

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 10:15 PM PDT

Is Act 1 being right after you and Jacky meet. Act 1 should be you living with Jacky and learning Night City's ropes. Act 2 should be what Act 1 was, and Act 3 should be what Act 2 was.
