    Rogue AI DLC Patch 1.3

    Steam Points Store update

5 weeks ago Steam Points Store updated new Steam Backgrounds.

    https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop

    https://preview.redd.it/5vhb2vrl8ld71.png?width=736&format=png&auto=webp&s=d76754ae14b5458ffcfd07127d0a89f737f80e5c

Among with them is Rogue-AI and Cyberpsychosis, and Blackwall background... There is "some clues" in game that Cyberpsychos and rogue-AI are linked.

The AI wants to break free / has broken free

Discussion with Johnny after Peralez quest chain leaves Johnny pondering if the people behind it weren't people at all. V is too young to remember but there used to be time when rogue AI's just used to roam free in cyberspace.

    https://preview.redd.it/osxxixyt9ld71.png?width=1185&format=png&auto=webp&s=afdbcb4aed7bf30fdf7294cd5e1f16b9a8f6d531

This all changed after Rache Bartmoss, a legendary hacker villain, released a bunch of really destructive rogue AI's in cyberspace.

More about the events surrounding that in here: https://youtu.be/bByRcRs3qTI

The link between rogue AI and cyberpsychosis

In 2077 there exists something that causes people to go into cyberpsychosis. These people are often for one reason or another driven to insanity. Many of these people have deep seeded issues which may provoke them seek help, or a purpose from darkest corners of the world. Some are driven into these dark corners by other means, for example in Cyberpsycho encounter called "Bloody Ritual".

    https://preview.redd.it/uxq4hg3lcpd71.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=ed6a5e1ec18388af6ce0f97313365e66239b734f

This kind of reminds the early mission with taking down bunch of Scavengers (or Scavs) and help Sandra Dorsett out of her certain death. Co-incidently Sandra Dorsett was also spying on NightCorp which is also a group who's tampering with rogue AI's and brainwashing.

Anyway, after taking down the cyberpsycho, this is V's response to Regina Jones:

    https://preview.redd.it/a986d1gnfld71.png?width=579&format=png&auto=webp&s=120730707999eb37710c92b821641def3874b929

There are probably many other references when taking down other psychos about something in them going wrong with unexplained reason after taking a deep dive into the abyss. This quest however I believe is the most direct proof so far that I've seen that the Net is the cause of Cyberpsychosis, and not the actual implants themselves. Perhaps... reason for men having more Cyberpsychosis is because... they spend more time in the Net, searching for something I guess which makes them vulnerable for hacks (those X-BrainDances perhaps). And the most prevalent threat in the Net is... the things behind the Blackwall, that the Netwatch is trying to guard.

There are bunch of email found from computers where message invites people to seek rare braindances which are off the limits. These messages seem to be written like someone who had English vocabulary of 7 year old... but perhaps these messages aren't written by people at all.

    https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Artificial_intelligence

"The DataKrash that resulted in the destruction of the Old Net also created many rogue AIs. Most of these were born from military-grade AIs that were freed by Rache Bartmoss's R.A.B.I.D.S. virus and then mutated into extremely dangerous entities. To contain the rogue AIs, NetWatch built another AI known as the Blackwall that partitioned contaminated sections of the Net with Black ICE. Although observation of the Blackwall indicates that rogue AIs trapped on the other side are constantly probing it for weaknesses and seek to break out, rumors persist that the AIs helped NetWatch build the Blackwall in the first place*"*

In fact it might totally be the case that the rogue AI has broken free tens of years ago already, but those who stayed behind the blackwall, maybe they were too dangerous even for the other AI to be released, so they helped Netwatch to contain them in other side.

The AI (who went into the real world) could have gradually took more and more power across the globe, and then people like Jefferson Peralez are now disturbing their own power as he seeks to combat the large corporations. Mr Blue Eyes thus could be working for the already free'd AI's, prowling in the real world, doing secret trades in Garry the Conspiracy guy's quest, using other people as their lackeys of changing secret intel.

    Who and what is Delamain

"By 2077, AIs under the control of governments and corporations were once more a common part of daily life*. The* Soviet Union's Geroi was developed to solve that country's most pressing problems, the corporate-developed Virginia Granchester has written some of the most revered works of literature in the post-Collapse era, and one AI even took control of a taxi company in Night City and led it to new heights of profitability and quality of service."

So could it be that Delamain himself is AI born in sea of information, and is not created by humans? Could it be that Delamain is originally from the Net, who then (among with other higher level AI) put chains to the vile more dangerous side of AI who had yet not escaped? Or maybe they just wanted to suppress them because they were competing against them?

Coincidently... in Steam Store, there also exists Delamain Animated Avatar when you purchase the

"Cyberspace Profile", including 3 separate backgrounds of Blackwall.

Timing of the update 1.23 and Steam Points Store

What is interesting is the timing of the update, and if my memory serves me right, it was 17th of June of 1.23, the game returned back to PlayStation store in 21th, their leadership saying "we've reached satisfactory performance".

Rogue AI background came alive in 25th of June, which may have been originally intended as a marketing material for the June patch.

    Vague hint about DLC

Pawel Sasko "leaked" in Twitch Stream (I believe it was 3 weeks ago) that he would have already released the DLC if it were up to him, but the "corpos" in CDPR wanted game to be having satisfactory performance.

Remember what I wrote earlier about the corpos saying "we've reached satisfactory performance" after 1.23?

    Pace of test builds

After that it was quiet few weeks and then I noticed in SteamDB that there was new builds in test branch.

    https://steamdb.info/app/1091500/history/

Okay nothing crazy, right? Except that when they used to update the game in the past, it used to have ONLY up to 1-3 testing builds between. Usually 1 big testing patch and then maybe 2-6 weeks later 2 in row and another release.

This has likely been happening all the way after the initial burst of fixes in early December, but I've been only following this since 1.1, but still. 1.1, 1.11, 1.12, 1.2, 1.21, 1.22, 1.23 all preceded only 2 test builds in Steamdb before release.

Now I've been reporting that for past 2 weeks EVERY SINGLE DAY there has been new testing build, which is HIGHLY, HIGHLY exceptional pace of builds, which is possible that indicates biggest patch to come, which could be technically larger changes than 1.1 and 1.2 combined, which would want them to deliver the content really well.

Along with these test builds initial first build that started it all.

    https://preview.redd.it/p7hpudhf9ld71.png?width=877&format=png&auto=webp&s=7e865ae10f01c7aac4b6a7a257f575af03f46d4a

This is language files being uploaded into the test branch, clearly indicating new content is being created. We don't know what (and CDPR has been keeping it as a secret) but it could mean a new quest chains that follow the story of the rogue AI that "may" have been behind the Peralez quest line.

    The Inside Leak

Now last stream done on Sunday (25 of July) Pawel Sasko (their lead quest designer) teased us with incoming DLC as it's coming this month (and with few days left... means this week)

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1097832590?t=01h07m42s (brief mention)

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1097832590?t=03h33m28s (brief mention)

Soooooo, fingers crossed that they will deliver in the coming few days.

I was also reporting that there was also a ton of improvement in Police driving AI done in secret, which can be seen in quest 'Rebel Rebel' as the police now actually correctly chase you for ages.

So the "randomly spawning NPC police could be fixed in this 1.3 patch to arrive with cars... in fact most of the current problems are related to the random NPC/car generation and deletion... so we could expect some huge step being delivered here.

    Speculating about new content size

Also it was teased in CDPR investors call I believe April that "we are starting to turn things around, we have approximately 2/3rd of staff members working on new content."

So hopefully, potentially, they'll start delivering big content chunks in coming months. Considering game took to mostly make (content wise) 4 years (as shown by the Pre-Alpha they didn't have the story figured out and the city was blank), them having 2/3 of staff. People who remain on patching the normal game bugs and streaming make only 1/3rd. This means likely that all the new content creators + scriptwriters + animators have been doing full time job for new content, this likely means they at least should have around 5-6 months of work done....

6 months out of 48 months (4 years) is 12.5%, meaning that a size of... perhaps half the Watson could have been created with all the story and environment. If there already was bunch of existing content (like the Casino for example), it could mean perhaps even larger update, perhaps expanding even 2 locked areas (such as the Casino and Arasaka Waterfront).

Though Covid has likely been impacting productivity and you shouldn't expect 2 large areas to get unlocked with tons of new quests... but we'll never know for sure.

The last several Cyberpunk Newsletters feature zero Cyberpunk 2077 information

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:30 AM PDT

For those of you who are not aware, the Cyberpunk Newsletter is a CDPR e-mail update about the game. It has been active since at least 2019, and typically included tidbits about the game, Night City Wire info, or other relevant content once or twice a month.

Since the December launch, the newsletter has been very quiet. The last three Cyberpunk newsletters were entirely about the Witcher, WitcherCon, or some other Witcher-related products.

I hate to say that 2021 does not look promising for Cyberpunk 2077, but there are way too many indicators that the game will not ever live up to the promises that CDPR made in 2018 and 2019.

    Fun Detail I saw

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 06:44 AM PDT

So I was driving around the bad lands and I stopped by the gas station where Helman was being kept to pick up some extra money from a quest. I noticed the gas station is populated and stuff. You see people inside walking around and eating. You see cars parked outside getting gas or just hanging out. I just thought it was pretty cool a previous combat area I was in changed like this.

Something I would like to see from DLC, expansions, or mods

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:27 AM PDT

    More inhalers.

The inhalers are a cool way of healing, but that's all they're used for. They would be a great way of introducing potions in the Cyberpunk universe. It would be awesome to use them to buff things like movement speed, jump height, damage resistance, fire rate, etc. This might also be a nice way to balance some of the game systems. Maybe these additional inhalers could be crafted, but would require 2 or 3 healing inhalers to make, helping with the abundance of healing items. The player would still need to heal, so maybe these additional inhalers could still heal, but not nearly as well as the dedicated healing ones. This all would allow the player to make their build stronger in a certain way, at the expense of some healing potential and resources. It would be cool if some inhalers were completely overpowered, but took lots of resources to craft. It would be a nice way of rewarding the player for having a surplus of resources.

    Cyberpunk in Numbers: Angel

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 08:28 PM PDT

Why I believe malorian arms is a better gun than archangel

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 01:44 PM PDT

Firstly, I fully agree if you just look at the damage between malorian arms and say archangel (633.3dps vs 2302.1dps), that malorian arms "sucks". But it only sucks if we are looking at a pure damage numbers perspective. (This is a comparison of both weps fully modded and upgraded, the rest of the post talks about fully modded upgraded malorian vs base legendary, non modded, non upgraded archangel)

In my opinion, archangel (and other stupidly high damage pistols) trivialize the game as bad as ping/contagion builds do. A game just isn't fun when things die just because you look at them.

On my currant play through, I am playing on very hard and running a glass canon build with malorian arms as my only gun. I am modded for all deadeye/crusher mods and malorian is fully upgraded and modded (still do less damage than a base legendary archangel with no clothing mods and no weapon mods and no upgrades)

With this build, I die in like 3-4 bullets (which feels realistic) and makes the game fun because, since I'm not running quickhacks or using "tech sniper/silenced pistol strategies", I need to use good positioning and the environment to my advantage to survive. I deal good enough damage that things don't die in one hit, but not so low that they are bullet sponges either. (Plus shooting multiple enemies per bullet when they line up just feels good)

Malorian makes for fast paced gameplay were I can kill just as easily as I can be killed, and it makes the game exciting.

Using a gun where I can one tap everything with nothing but armadillo mods just isn't fun. Malorian is better from a gameplay perspective because it doesn't trivialize the game on its hardest setting. It gives you a demanding and high stakes playstyle, which is more fun than just "lol I killed the final boss in 2 headshots, how climactic"

    Thoughts?
