Anyone else wish Cyberpunk 2077 was more like Deus Ex? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 09:53 PM PDT So I just started playing CP2077 this past week and overall I really enjoy it (aside from the constant crashing every 2-5 hrs). The way everything looks is gorgeous and the combat can be really fun. Some of the stories and characters are very interesting, wasn't expecting it to be as dark with the subject matter but I like it. Problem is before playing CP2077 I was deep in a Deus Ex Mankind Divided playthrough and that game just plays soooo much smoother than CP2077. Now when I'm playing Cyberpunk I get disappointed if I can't find a way into a door or when I'm saddled into a linear path to finish a quest. I know a big difference is that Deus Ex is a lot of world building shoved into a tiny map and that the series has been around way longer. Just an observation really. I like both games and wish there was a way to mash the two because I love the look and characters of Cyberpunk more. submitted by /u/puffsorplumes [link] [comments]

What nobody is saying about CP2077. Posted: 11 Jul 2021 04:59 AM PDT SPOILERS FOR GAMES ENDING BELOW: The cutscene after the prologue, was never a cutscene. It seems quite obvious that this was a first act, that was cut. Yet its everything the game promised! Hacking, mercenary work, nightlife and relarionships, "Making a name for yourself"! What hits me is, this will never be fixed. Fix all the bugs you want, but the story will always be rushed. Jackie will always die 2 hours into the game and V will only be a merc in NC, for a two minute cutscene, never something we get to play. This will never be patched. No DLC will come out and change the games ending. Unless the DLC, starts a new story, with a new character (unlikely), V will always die. And the entire game will always be what feels like a compressed third/final act. (Maybe 1 +1/2 acts). Anybody feel as empty inside when they think about this? What features would you want to see in Cyberpunk? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 10:17 PM PDT Sup' Chooms, I'm in the process of playing CP77 again, I played for around 100 hours then dropped the game for about 6-7 months. I am back and I'm having a good time (thanks in part to mods). I was thinking about a few features that CDPR could implement to redeem their reputation and the some and QOL for the game. Actual third person animations + implementing a Third Person Camera: The TPP mod is WIP but it shows that the scope of the game still works well in TPP, and In my opinion is more immersive, also it lets you experience combat in a new way and allows you to appreciate the time you spent customizing V (MP should be coming out in some years, but the sooner this is out the better.) Mini-games: Card (hologram?) games, Arcades, actual useable BDs, dancing at clubs, hookah etc.. (we have very few mini games at the moment, more would spice the world up) Body modifications: Changing hair, face, getting chromed out (some accessed through mods) Fixing the Police AI: Cops randomly spawning isn't anything new in open world games. In RDR2 cops will randomly spawn in your vicinity as well, but at least they give chase. Same thing happens in Watch Dogs 2. In CP77 however, the cops spawn right behind you, its laughable and needs a serious rework (there's a mod that attempts to fix this and it works fairly well for the most part) General AI: Crowd AI should interact with the world a little more, and not always cower in fear at the sound of gun shots. Also please let some of them fight back. In Watch Dogs 2, you can be shot by random civilians that are concealed carrying if you harm or threaten them. It makes the world feel more alive. Its jarring to see a 7 feet meathead cowering, when I punch him. More turf wars, I've encountered only one so far, there could be more down the line. More interactable items: It's cool that you can interact with vending machines, but there should be more. Like interacting with shops, (there's a mod for this), lights, being able to sit down in chairs, Actual animations for consuming items, etc.. This goes without saying: General bug fixing, performance troubleshooting, and getting the game to run properly on consoles is the main objective. Drip fed DLC would be nice too (hopefully some for free as a "sorry") Sorry for the long post, for anyone who cared to read. I Just got finished playing and was brainstorming on what this game could use to get it back in public favor, because I truly believe it has the potential to be the game it was meant to be. Hint hud element stuck on screen Posted: 11 Jul 2021 08:34 PM PDT Just started act 3, and for some reason as soon as I finished the Tapeworm portion in the hotel, the hints became stuck in the bottom right of the screen, even though I've had them off the whole game. I saw that there was a several months-old thread for this on the subreddit already, but it was for pc (I'm on ps4) and no one had suggested a working fix for this, so I hope it's okay to make a new thread for console. Tried reloading, turning all of the hud elements on/off and reloading, aaand nothing. Anyone know how to fix this? EDIT: Did a few side jobs around the city and it seemed to fix itself. I left hints turned "off" in settings and I'm not sure exactly what triggered it to fix itself, but I noticed that the hints stopped appearing after waiting/skipping time during The Prophet's Song side job, so maybe choosing the waiting option during a job does the trick?
