- Time to burn the city with style!
- This will make you redownload the game and start a new character :)
- This, for me, sums up the game. Stunningly beautiful, fundamentally flawed. Cyberzombies would be a hell of a DLC though.

I think I finally figured out why the game doesn’t draw me in and immerse me Posted: 07 Jul 2021 06:10 PM PDT The sound design. There are no noodle vendors shouting "hey choomba how bout some spicy pad thai?!" There are no loud cars zooming by at red lights. No dialogue of characters you walk past No distant sirens or even the muffled chatter of small arms fire from a shootout you didn't start No ads screaming at you to upgrade your manhood A city so vast and populated that is also so quiet you can hear a pin drop and every one of your footsteps. The vast majority of the sound in the game is created by the player or for the player. Yes there are npcs and cars and ads but they all are respectfully quiet of your own personal mission And yeah I get that some of these things are in the game to an extent but I would expect to be inundated with them not occasionally noticing it [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Jul 2021 05:31 PM PDT I can already imagine the disappointment when CDPR posts the patch and it's a fix for the 3 glitches they said they're tracking. All jokes aside, even if the patch is substantial, temper your expectations. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Jul 2021 07:18 PM PDT After a lot of work, I'm proud to announce that I've created a mod that makes most NPCs and main characters in the Cyberpunk 2077 game naked, effectively creating a naked city to explore! You can make your own player naked too with other mods. You can play this game either flat on PC or in VR using VorpX. You can download the mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2897/ You can find the game currently on sale on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1091500/Cyberpunk_2077/ Gameplay footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvcbrcHs4wA Join the community discord server: [link] [comments]

Jumped back in after shelving since release Posted: 07 Jul 2021 01:37 PM PDT Basically what the title says so if you don't care about some random person's (probably overly-repeated) opinion, you may close this post now. But yes, I was one of the many many people who decided to purchase this game at launch and had extremely high hopes which of course fell VERY short. I, like many of you guys, put this game on the shelf until a few months passed or until CDPR actually got to work on the game. One of my biggest concerns when I first played was performance issues and game crashes. Yes, like many of you, I was duped into thinking that this game would run (albeit not great) on my Xbox One but that was definitely not the case as I could barely play the game shortly without crashing. So, on the shelf it went until it was deemed "playable" by my standards. Well, a few months have since passed since launch and a few updates had been rolled out and since I just recently acquired an Xbox Series X, I thought I'd finally give the game another shot. Now, the game looks a LOT better. I'm still using a 4k 27-inch monitor, but the performance on the Series X is much much better. I can finally appreciate the looks of the sunsets in the badlands and the beautiful neon lights and signs of NC. That being said though, I think this game is going back on the shelf. I've played many RPGs in the past and I'm familiar with how they work, but this game feels like it falls short on almost everything. Pedestrian, enemy, and even story character AI is so dead and not lifelike. They fixed driving mechanics but it still feels so wonky especially in missions. Speech decisions feel like they have virtually no impact on the game or the outcome (except in the very rare romance options) and any gear you get either has too many stats or stats that are irrelevant. Then there's the 50 different fuckin skill trees which have little impact as well as you could find one OP weapon early on that one shots enemies. (There's also so much shit just lying around to pick up that you quickly run out of inventory space like only 300lbs seriously??) So, trying to look away from the hundreds of other glaring faults mentioned by a lot of you before, I thought I'd at least try to complete the main quest line. That lasted me all of a couple hours. The missions are so redundant and boring. Go to this place, talk to Takaemura, get in this car, drive to this place, clear out this hideout stealthily (which isn't at all necessary), etc. etc. You'd think the story would be thrilling, but it's just a dialogue-based game filled with countless interruptions from Wakako, Panam, Judy, Johnny fuckin everyone. It's like "let's go bowling" times 10000. So, I give up on the story, and try to do side missions which feel equally monotonous. Even trying to find something to do in NC feels like extra work when you don't want to help the Police Department or go get virtually drunk at a brain dance bar and have it wear off 5 minutes later. All in all, i think I'm going to shelve the game again, maybe for good idk. Just feels like so much is missing from the game and i don't think any amount of DLC or patches can bring me back. Sorry for the long pointless ramble, if you made it this far i love you. TLDR; bought an next gen console and thought I'd try cyberpunk again hoping for a slightly better experience since launch, but nope. Still kinda buns. [link] [comments]

Unpopular Opinion: Cyberpunk2077 is a great game Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:19 PM PDT I just finished the game and I think Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game. yes it was overhyped but when you look at what this game does right it does them astoundingly well, voice acting is brilliant across all characters, next gen graphics, engaging story and characters, a vibrant city that feels real. gunplay, melee & stealth there are downsides but thinking back half of these are not actual problems the game has but rather problems I had WITH the game.. due to high expectations and also sometimes poor or rushed execution. AI is absolutely a problem but it's a function of its rushed development. the fact the game was in the making for 7 years and we still got a product that's this good is astounding. yes it's taken time to polish but this certainly isnt a turd. 7 years is what I'd consider development hell. lack of customisation is disappointing. the game is unbalanced by its perk system. money made doesnt really have much to be spent on. in regards to not having enough divergent gameplay ala fallout 3 or Fallout NV. this is true. often choices are not very meaningful or we dont have particularly important choices to make which is frustrating. although I never particularly remember being told I could do the missions anyway I wanted, I think that was an expectation we placed there because you know its CDPR and their last game was an innovation of the whole genre. some side quest lines feel incomplete. Peralez is a great example. some Gigs feel like they were meant to have greater player choice. at least one does so it's a bizarre choice to not extend that to them all. the game launched in a bad state. an unacceptable state and if your on console it's probably not any better. but playing on PC and particularly with a few Mods is by far the best experiance (wish I started my play through like this). some mods even fix minor issues with cyberpunk that really allow you to see it's real nature; a great game somewhat hamstrung by a deadline that was way too optimistic. but the point still stands the content here on it's own is good and holds up. although I've focused on the negative aspects I just want you to compare cyberpunk 2077 with other games In its genre. and not the perfect game you wish existed.none of the problems I've listed are greater than the positives the game has going for it, this is the most realised city ever created in AAA gaming or the thrilling and interesting story and world. Take away the technical problems fixed on launch. if you do that i think you too will agree it's a great game I went into cyberpunk 2077 dissapointed. but having played all the content I left impressed. cyberpunk 2077 will age like wine and in 5 years people will realise. this is a story that could be put straight into a movie; how many games can say that.
