Small Roleplay elements that can improve the game

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 02:13 AM PDT

While I quite like the game, I have left it unfinished because I am hoping big changes can come to it in the future and I can come back to it later. For example I am hoping for a somewhat serviceable faction system, changes to the story where the player have more agency...

Meanwhile, I am really hoping we can get some small changes/new features that would absolutely bring a lot of fun to gamers who enjoy the roleplay aspect of the game.

    1. Make it possible to purchase a Trauma team/meatwagon/(or something similar) health plan. And once V is flatlined, have Trauma team come save you. Make the health plan really expensive and incur other costs like stated in the lore. Make them off limits during main quests. Lore wise, explain that you disabled your tracking with trauma team for mission security reasons.
    2. Open up a lot of the shops. Make them sell junk items if you have to. (better yet, give you misc upgrades like more songs to listen to in the car, maybe have japantown sell jpop music and chinatown have cpop, sell snacks, sex toys etc.) A lot of shops in the game are simply just closed. while you can already see the interior. It makes me really upset as it makes the game feel quite... empty. Let me take a look at what people are eating and drinking. Let me understand what a grocery store in 2077 might look like. The slice of life moments really add color to the world.(If you don't mind Roblox, there are cyberpunk themed role playing games that have a ton of stores and facilities open and make the small games feel very alive.) I have lived in many metropolis in my life, some of which feel super cyberpunk already and an active nightlife with street food, late night shops and restaurants are what defines the experience. I can say 2077 nailed it for the most part, with each part of the city having their unique flavor, except we aren't able to explore the details like the shops. This shouldn't be too hard to do. Just some modeling.
    3. Let us eat food while sitting down? Part of the urban experience is sitting down and eating. The animation is already there at several stages/cutscenes of the game. Please let us have the option to sit down and enjoy the beauty of the streets at our pace. Maybe give us additional bonuses on the food we ate.
    4. Have different public announcements!! I can only stand hearing that one line about a chill so many times.
    5. Let us use the metro system. The metro is actually one of the defining pieces of a metropolis. Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, ChongQing (one of the more cyberpunk cities) all have metro systems. It is also a great opportunity to show us what the "low life" of "high tech low life" means.
    6. Give us more things to do in the apartment. Something as simple as ordering food delivery would do. It would give us lore enthusiasts more to read and RP. And it could give us "well fed" buffs or something with flavor fitting the food.

What other small features would also be good?

Are there mods to change how the gunfights work ?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 03:25 AM PDT

I want to love this game but I've just got back to it after a long wait due to the bugs and the bullet sponge feeling of the gunfight is really putting me off.

I was wondering if maybe there are mods that make it a lot more like deus ex where a bullet to the head or two to the chest is enough.

I'm in it for the story and the lore and having numbers above the head as I shoot my way through enemies is just too much for me. I know there's probably a way to remove the numbers but it doesn't change the feel of it.

Has anyone noticed that if someone kept the chip in for just a bit longer the story would be super different?

Attention to details on the example of Samurai songs in various performances.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 02:10 AM PDT

In the 2018 demo gameplay, when V wakes up after the 'party' in her apartment, song Chippin 'In is on the radio. The voiceover explains that it is a song performed by Johnny Silverhand. The vocals were provided by Polish singer Damian Ukeje. However, at some point in production, CDPR decided it would be better to hire a band to create a strictly new Samurai tracks. The Swedish band Refused, playing punk hardcore, was chosen. They recorded a new, more punk version of Chippin 'In - it first appeared at the e3 2019 presentation as Keanu Reeves took the stage.

But the original piece performed by Damian was not lost. Damian has been shifted from Johnny to Kerry and performs Samurai songs during Johnny's absence and after death.

The original version of Chippin 'In can be heard in Johnny's first mission - when player as Johnny come to a samurai concert, it is Kerry / Damian Ukeje who performs the vocal.

The second time you hear Damian is at the Samurai reunification concert, in Kerry's Quest. In this mission, Kerry sings (Johnny is dead) the song A Like Supreme. Two versions of this song have been recorded - original by Refused as the band Samurai and cover by Damian Ukeje, which is what Kerry sings during this mission. They sound virtually identical, but you can tell the difference. Until now, I thought there was a Refused version being played during this mission, but I was wrong. IMHO, Damian Ukeje's performance is a bit better. You can hear the Refused version on the radio, for example.

The third time is a quiet humming during the finale of Kerry's story as Kerry strumming his guitar on a yacht. Here, the vocals were also provided by Damian Ukeje.

Like a small thing, because who will notice that the vocals are a bit different during the reunification concert of the Samurai band? The song is a song, the player focuses on Johnny's stage madness and not on the fact that the singer is dead, so the song must necessarily be a little different. But it's nice that small differences are taken care of like two different singers.
