Hey! This is our weekly Cyberpunk Lore discussion megathread.

With free talk (aka memes) being allowed across the weekend, discussions about the world of Cyberpunk can often be drowned out by memes & media posts across the weekend, so we hope this thread can help keep them going without being lost!

Bought this game 3 Days ago on PS5…

    Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:14 PM PDT

I was incredibly reluctant to even consider this title. After all, it was the biggest disappointment in gaming in some time. However, I heard it was re released on the PS Store so I decided to do my research.

After watching several YouTube videos my fears had come to light. Every YouTuber was hating on the latest patch. I even saw video clips myself of unfixed bugs and the lot. But for some reason I though maybe there must be some positivity somewhere. Lots of people on this sub were actually positive, enjoying the game! And all I can say is I'm glad I took a gamble.

This game does have its bugs, but they are hard to notice. The music/sound, atmosphere, voice acting, graphics, and CD PJRD infamous story telling, the combat… This game is awesome! I'm personally loving it. My PS5 only crashed once and iv had less then 5 bugs.

This game is something special. After the next gen update, some other future updates, and some DLC. This game will be a classic.

Happy I bought it. Highly recommended!

I've been replaying Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing and have decided that Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition and Cyberpunk 2077 are probably the best looking games I have ever played

My Disappointment That Rarely Is Talked About - Legendary Gears

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 03:52 AM PDT

What I loved about Wild Hunt was the legendary gears.

Those were the best looking armours in the game, they were designed to fit certain builds. They were tied to quests and by being most of the time the best armour to end your game in (you could've always find random better ones, but let's be honest Witcher 3 wasn't a difficult game) players had incentive to gather them.

Even when I didn't care about Witcher Gears for specific builds I still gathered them to make them archmaster level and display them in Geralt's house.

Griffin & Wolf school armour sets for Signs Build, Cat school armour set for quick attacks & bear school armour set for heavy attacks. Also manticore for alchemy and viper for... something (can't remember)

That design was the offspring of Witcher 2 outfits that were present in Dark Mode.

What the hell happend with Cyberpunk? I've got Johnny's Jacket that is kind of alright if I upgrade it and give it some armour mod. There're certain sets of armours but:

    1. They're not tied to any quest or maps you could buy from vendors. Just fucking roam around, maybe you will find them.
    2. Most of them (except for corpo) are looking like dogshit.

What happend to game awarding you for doing optional quests by giving you super cool looking armours while also having awesome stats. Maybe that wasn't the best design option (because transmog would be the best IMO) but it had its upsides.

Where is the upside in Cyberpunk 2077 if the only good looking armour that is kind off good of normal difficulty is a fucking Johnny's Jacket recieved in late story moment.

If there was anything they had actually spent 7 years to make, it was the Night City.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 01:12 AM PDT

Like for real everywhere looked like it came straight from a "new super highly advanced graphics your high-end PC won't be able to handle for the next couple of years" tech demo like those Unreal Engine videos on Youtube even on the shittiest system like mine. And not the graphics alone, it's about how it "feels", like, you know what im sayin, despite the fact that there's not much we can do as so called "interacting" with this world, it still has an actual soul underneath all the crappy bugs and glitches and shitty AIs. It beats GTA V or any other games that have an open-world just so they can be labelled "open-world" on so many levels. It takes me back to them time I was visiting Taiwan which was the first Asian country I had ever visited and I just couldn't stop being awed by anything that caught my eye and man it was such an awesome experience. This game, this city has been delivering that exact feeling, like I can practically smell the streets, and I can't help but say it out loud. I love it, I love it so much I went out and upgraded the GPU so I can experience this in its fullest.

That being said sometimes I do feel sad and keep wondering what if they had just another 1,5 - 2 years or so.

A screenshot that I took in my favorite place. I just love chilling over here. https://i.imgur.com/6CKvnNe.png

Help me decide the best weapons to use?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 06:17 AM PDT

So I remember playing on launch, pistols and shotguns were amazing. I haven't played since launch day (due to bugs) and started playing again last night.

I'm having a really hard time choosing between the weapons. AR/SMG, pistols, shotguns, blades all feel equally awesome. I was kinda leaning towards AR/Pistol/Katana build. Is this viable?

Since I'm sure you guys have played the hell out of this game, what weapons are ACTUALLY the best and most fun to rank up? I'd love to spec in two weapon types, maybe two types of guns + blades if there's a way to solve the issue below.

I have noticed a weird issue, maybe a bug? That was around on launch, where if I'm running around with a Katana at random times my dude will just walk at the slowest pace, I'll have to put it away and take it back out, and then I can run again. I feel like this will probably kill my desire to run blades.

    Realistic expectations about improvements

    Posted: 24 Jun 2021 11:20 PM PDT

It's clear by now that this game, though good in its own way, still needs a lot of improvements. Without making blind expectations, what are some of the improvements which can make into the game when given enough time?

Note: This post is only about QoL Improvements.
