    The Meaning of 'Samurai'

    "Wake the F*** up, Samurai. We have a city to burn."

    It's a great line on its own. But Keanu Reeves' delivery paired with his mocking tone at "Samurai" is intriguing to me. Initially, I believed he was solely referring to V's jacket which prominently displays the logo of Silverhand's former band, Samurai; a bit of irony about meeting the dead lead singer of the band that happens to be on your jacket. But I recently learned in Cyberpunk 2020 slang a Ronin is a mercenary without a singular employer, while a Samurai is a mercenary who is employed by a corporation. The band Samurai named themselves after this term, presumably as a protest against the government, the corpos, and their record label.

    I wonder if the commercialization and commodification of the band Samurai and Johnny's memory in the year 2077 will figure in the plot? Samurai the band used to stand for criticizing the government, the military, and corpos' lies about the 'obtainable' American Dream. According to CP2020, simply playing rockerboy music was illegal. Yet, ironically, as V wearing his Samurai jacket in the CP2077 2018 trailer admits that while Night City is a den of lies, deceit, crime, and illusions it's still: "It's a city of dreams. And I'm a big dreamer."

    In addition, during the 2018 demo after V's joyboy leaves, Stanley Media radio plays Samurai's 'Chippin' In' while V absent-mindedly brushes her teeth, paying little attention to the broadcast.

    "But first, 'member the man, the myth, Johnny Silverhand? Been a year since he went on his last ride. . . So for the edgerunners out there . . . and for you Johnny-boy . . . here's chippin' in."

    Once, Samurai and by extension Johnny Silverhand were musical revolutionaries. Yet in present-day 2077, Samurai is just another product with a catchy song you can absent-mindedly listen to while washing your face and dreaming about owning better, more expensive tech. Another way of thinking about Silverhand's iconic line is him mockingly addressing V as a 'fan' who has bought into the corporate profitability of the name and brand, Samurai. Thus, in a symbolic way, implying V embodies the original term as a corporate lackey. I have a feeling V's infatuation with that elusive dream will feature heavily in CP2077.

    The cybernetics on the very far right is military grade/from militech, that means vic could be a black market ripperdoc and were able to access his store and services during early game, making him very useful.

    First off Witcher 3 is a great game. I just can't get into it. No idea why as RPGS are my favourite. I think I was just burnt out as there was so much map markers and I didn't like the gear system. But I love CDPR for everything they have done for the Industry. And I know Cyberpunk will be it's own thing. I just find it weird considering this is the only game for years I've actually cared about other than RE2/3.

    Cyberpunk Wallpaper (Dark Version) Not sure if anyone would want this but I edited one of the Cyberpunk official wallpapers so that the black & yellow colours were swapped as I prefer dark wallpapers. Putting it up here if anyone else wants to use it as well :)

    Futuristic Sport in the game?

    I know this is unlikely, but it would be amazing if there was some type of sport in Cyberpunk 2077. There is a stadium in Pacifica, and there are futuristic sports in the lore (such as razorball), it would be great if you could watch or participate in a fleshed-out minigame type of sport. There were also people playing basketball in the e3 trailer.

    I envision a physical and fast-paced sport, like some combination of football/basketball/handball which utilizes some cyberware/enhancements to players. Imagine going to watch Night City's professional team play, or being able to play yourself in the underbelly of the city. This could lead to a great multiplayer game type in the future once cyberpunk online is released.

    CDP, distributor of the game in Poland, and original distributor of Baldur’s Gate and Witcher games, is going bankrupt. CDPR is still fine and are even making their studios larger.
