    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 03:03 AM PDT

The question is being askes frequently, the demo will be be releases during or immediately following PAX WEST, the most likely date is the second of September.

If mods could sticky a post that would be great.

    Clearing Up Confusion

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 03:27 AM PDT

I feel people are confused when CDPR use the term "demo" thinking they mean playable demo. There rn wont be a playable demo, but will be a gameplay demo video during PAX WEST that will be shown to the public, aka us at home. So not long left. Just wanted to clear this up

Vulkan and Linux support in Cyberpunk 2077

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 02:06 PM PDT

Now that it's officially confirmed, that CP2077 is going to be released on Stadia, we can be sure that CDPR are going to implement Vulkan renderer for the game and to make the Linux (Stadia variant) build.

To avoid making this a non valuable post and an obscure statement and since not everyone is familiar with details about Stadia, here are some sources. Google quite clearly explained, that Stadia servers are running Debian Linux and using Vulkan for graphics API, which was also mentioned by various developers who spoke about Stadia:

In light of this, two groups of players can benefit from such work, even if they aren't using Stadia:

    1. Linux gamers. Once CDPR would release the game for Stadia, it would require only minor adjustments (like using desktop swapchains instead of streaming ones) in the Vulkan renderer, as well as using standard I/O and frameworks like SDL instead of Stadia's remote input, to make a proper desktop Linux version. So it's totally doable for CDPR to release is for desktop Linux.

    2. Windows gamers, especially those who are using Windows 7. If CDPR will provide the Vulkan renderer option for the Windows version, the game won't be tied to Windows 10, since Vulkan is not restricting it, unlike various variants of DirectX.

In addition, if the Windows version will be able to use Vulkan and in case CDPR won't make native desktop Linux release like above, even Linux gamers will be able to run the Windows version in Wine with much better performance, since Vulkan will be translated to Vulkan in such case, which has very minimal overhead.

So to direct this to CDPR: can you please release the game for desktop Linux proper in addition to Stadia, as well as provide Vulkan renderer option for the Windows version?

    Thanks!
