    To stop malicious reporting we will be implementing a statute of limitations on most bans. If someones ban was initially only going to be temporary in the first place* then you'll no longer be banned if someone reports your comment after 3 weeks.

    We've had a lot of people abusing the report function to target people they're having an argument with, getting them banned out of spite, for comments they posted up to a year ago. Normally we wouldn't take when a comment was made into consideration, when deciding whether or not to ban someone. In an attempt to discourage malicious reporting we will be looking at when a comment was made before rendering an opinion.

    We're hoping this will stop people from targeting specific users. Of course we have no way of knowing for certain if this will fix the problem, so we'll continue to monitor the situation and adjust our approach based on what we're seeing.

    Would you chooms like to make any other suggestions? Is there any other feedback you'd like to pass on?

    *Content that would have earned you a permanent ban (like transphobia, racism or homophobia) will still earn you a permanent ban, regardless of when the content was posted
