| The Diamond Age Reference in Never Fade Away Posted: 09 Apr 2022 09:53 PM PDT Don't know if this has previously been reported, but on a new playthrough, while at Atlantis in the Never Fade Away subquest, I encountered a couple of NPCs (at the little bar to the right of the dance floor) talking about a job, commissioned by a "J. Percy Hackworth", to retrieve a bit of tech that looks like a children's book, but is in fact a state-of-the-art interactive device made with nanotechnology, full of stories about "castles, skeleton keys, and King Coyote". This is a reference to The Young Lady's Illustrated Primer in Neil Stephenson's The Diamond Age. Yet another cool little easter egg in the game that I thought other's might like to be on the lookout for. [link] [comments] |
