- I avoided buying cyberpunk 2077 after a whole year due to the hate it received, and i finally brought it 2 days ago and spent 16hrs on it so far. Here is my honest review and personal experience of the game. Hopefully this helps some people on the fence still figuring out if they should buy it.

Posted: 07 Feb 2022 10:31 PM PST Pros- graphics are amazing, and night city is one of the most gorgeous gaming worlds ever created -The gunplay is satisfying due to the weapons packing a serious punch, and the variety of guns here makes the fps lover in me happy. -The side quests are awesome(honestly even more enjoyable than the main story, and the main story is good as well so far) and there are a ton of them to do. The structure and format of the world reminds me of a far cry game and i really like it. -Superb soundtrack and atmosphere -The entire game you are in first person, and never third person which really does amp up the immersion BUT it makes character customization feel pointless since you never see them in the gameplay aside from a few moments when you look in a mirror so this component of the game is very subjective for gamers, and could easily be a con for 1, and a pro for the other. Now here are my honest cons with my time of playing -the amount of visual bugs and glitches are honestly embarrassing, and take me out of the experience from time to time. I have experienced driving through the ground causing the game to freeze, during some conversations(including important moments in the story) the person who is talking mouth stops moving which makes the conversation awkward, and this sadly happens 80 percent of the time while driving and talking. During some car chase sequences when you are suppose to shoot your gun the gun doesn't appear and i end up shooting at enemies with a invisible gun, and bullets. The texture pop in is absolutely terrible, and REALLY needs to be fixed, and textures have a hard time loading in the game most of the time which causes me to arrive at a quest point where the important npcs i need to talk to takes about 30 seconds to spawn. It's surprising that after a whole year the game still has these many bugs, but hopefully they get fixed soon. -The game is poorly optimized (i have a nvidea geforce 1650 super, amd ryzen 5 3500, 8gb of ram), and i coudn't even run the game on low and get a smooth 30fps at all so i had to use a general optimization mod from nexus and i am happy it makes the game actually playable on medium settings with even some things on high. The game also chugs alot, and if you don't have a strong pc your gonna have a hard time getting a smooth fps. -The ai just might be the worst i have ever seen and i am not exaggerating. They are so dumb they would make patrick from spongebob squarepants look like a genius. Their were times when i opened fire on a gang during a mission and some would stand there taking the bullets like nothing is happening, and the ai is just really bad. None of the npc's feels dynamic, organic, or life-like (like rdr2) for example, and there is not much interaction to do in the world at all aside from the quests, and gigs. The police system is also basically..... non-existent due to how outdated, poor, and underdeveloped it is. my final verdict Overall this game is definitely unpolished, and needs some serious work, but the fact the game is so fun despite it's issues shows that it is not a bad game, just a unfinished one. When the game finally is fixed in the state it is suppose to be i can imagine it turning into something of a cult classic. Even though they deserved every bit of criticism for it's technical issues there is something special in here. I brought it on sale from epic for $20 and feel like i got my money's worth. Hope this review helps some people. I would give it a 7 outta 10, or a 3 outta 5 in its current state. If the game was polished it would be a 8 outta 10, and 4 outta 5 kinda game to me. Also the game has a ton of cut content and missing features that were once promised and not in the game (here is the link you can watch to see for yourself 15 of the Best Features That Were Removed From Cyberpunk 2077 - YouTube) so don't go into this expecting a one of a kind revolutionary, groundbreaking game because it's not. It's a linear action-adventure sandbox game with rpg elements, and it's a good one, but nothing more. [link] [comments] | ||
