| The problem with random reading material Posted: 15 May 2021 09:35 AM PDT I love this game. Part of my love for this game is the random reading material that augments the immersion of this game. However, some of this material is absolutely a waste of time, and it's frustrating. For example, I just read a file on a computer in the mission "The Hunt" and it was roughly 4 paragraphs about peoples' developing fear of the number 91… dude, I don't care. And honestly, I feel a developing trust issue with my time and this reading material. I lose incentive to stop the game and pick up a shard to read it, because I don't know if it's bullshit filler, or something that's actually interesting. Can we color code reading material based on relevance? Maybe even the same color coding scheme as what we see on gear. Orange: legendary content that's directly related to major characters or groups in the game. Content that can lead to missions. Technology you can find in the game and use. Purple: Epic content about the world. Conceptual and cultural movements. Gives background into why the world is the way is. Information on groups and gangs as a whole. Blue: Rare content about immediate surroundings. News articles and recent events. Primarily used in missions that require gathering info. Green: Uncommon content that includes unknown character (unseen managers or employees) notes. Content that just attempts to augment the personality of people you don't meet. Grey: common content that is used for filler. Is just there to make the world feel lived in. [link] [comments] | ||
