Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:46 PM PDT Honestly, I know the game still has a lot of work ahead of it, and some people will never be satisfied with the final product. But I can safely say I absolutely love this game, I've played it through twice now, and I'm still not bored with it. I thought the story was a whole lot of fun with diverse and enjoyable characters, and just to get it out of the way... I wish we had more of Jackie and T-Bug, both characters have so much flavour and I feel like they lost a lot of development in favour of keeping the story rolling. I would have loved to have seen an interaction with V & Jackie about Johnny silverhands Engram in V's head but alas you cant always get what you want. Ultimately my biggest gripe with the game is that I feel like there isn't enough of it, the story flew by so quickly for me. (I had about 60 hours on my first play through) I was surprised to see the whole 'point of no return' warning when I went to meet Hanako, as I was playing it I could only think to myself that I would have loved for her to be a more relevant side character, giving you the option of siding with her against Yorinobu, or even a true chaotic evil ending of double crossing her and siding with Yorinobu and Smasher. I found it so hard to choose who my favourite side character was. Ultimately it became a toss up between Panam and Johnny, which over time I've noticed they are very Kindred spirits. Don't get me wrong, I like Judy and Goro but I feel like we never saw enough variation in their characters, also didn't help that Goro just dropped of the face of the earth even if you save him from certain doom. The choice of origin for the player does add some really nice flavour dialog, and out of the two I've played so far, (Corpo & Nomad, I'm playing through as a street kid now) I much more prefered Nomad, while Corpo did have some very Unique insights a lot of the options felt very Boot lickery which wasn't in line with my Vs character. I would have liked to have seen your choice of origin have more of an impact outside of dialog even if it's just 1 extra side quest where you close the book on what happened at the start of the game. to round up, I love this game, the variations on playstyle both as a character and in combat is great, actually having several different outcomes and dialog that actually has an impact on how characters treat you in the future is really nice, I don't know if it's just my Telltale game past where 99% of the dialog choices just feel like set dressing it was refreshing to have a lot of choices feel like they mattered even in little ways. I can tell that a lot of love was poured into this game from CDPR, I hope that the initial reviews of this game doesn't sway them from exploring the Cyberpunk universe more. [link] [comments] | ||
