What do I need to survive explosions on very hard?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 07:50 PM PDT

At level 22, with 1600 armor or so, 30% health, 20 tech, 8 body, 30% damage reduction from explosions as well as 20% more hp mod and 30% more health talent, I can just go and beat everything in any area that isn't too high to death with a baseball bat and almost ignore gunfire but if I tap a single explosive canister, my hp goes from 100 to 0 in 1 hit.

The game has tons of explosive things everywhere in every area so it's nearly impossible to avoid them all.

Is it even possible to survive them at all?

I had the Cyberpunk tarot cards printed

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 10:01 AM PDT

Recently, I had the tarot cards from Cyberpunk printed as actual tarot-sized cards, using a online service.

I did some digging around, but there was no way to order these, so I decided to just make the design myself, and get them custom-printed. Found someone that had extracted the files from game in high-resolution Targa-format, and a free Cyberpunk font, so the rest was just putting it together using Gimp.

I'm not especially good at graphic design, so I tried to keep the design as minimalistic as possible, and I think I ended up with something ok, maybe even decent. Not a hundred percent sure about the kerning on the font, and the drop-shadow is not that noticeable in real life, so should maybe have spent a little bit more time on the text (names on the cards) - but on the other hand, it's might be a bit more punk this way.

The hexagon-pattern on the back is more subtle in real-life, which I think looks better.

This was primarily meant as a gift for someone I really care about - so I had 2 decks printed, one for myself, and one as a gift. (It was well received)

I really think it's kind of a missed opportunity from CDProjekt RED here, this would make excellent merchandise.

(Hope I don't get sued for this, and sorry for the blurry photos - we went for the legend of the Afterlife ending, as female Nomad)

Things I would like to see added and fix

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 10:45 PM PDT

I want this game to be good, don't get me wrong I love this fucking game but I hate the NPC's are so dumb the police will just spawn out of no where, they don't try to apprehend you. and try to put you in jail they straight up automatically kill you and there's no car chases with the police either. you can't shoot out of your vehicle. and the stash is broken in the game, and i hate you cant buy different apartment and buy houses even though it was advertised in the diner trailer. And I hate they remove the feature where you can climb on the walls with the Mantis blades. and I hate you can't interact with the food diners in the game you can't sit down and eat you can't do any Interactive activities in the city. After you romance someone you can't take them out on a date they don't even visit you in your apartment. all you can do is the main mission or the side jobs it feel so empty it a big open world but you can't hardly interact with anything. I played GTA you can interact with so many stuff in the game. and be able to have barbershops and be able to have tattoo parlors and you're able to see the clothes your putting on your character in the city. and the fact you can't change your body type through your habits in game. even though they have workout equipment in the game but you can't interact with it. will literally be people using exercise equipment right by your apartment working out. they could have made that into a mini game to change your body type. the city feels so shallow the story is good I'm just so disappointed and you can't modify your vehicles and it's no car dealerships it gets annoying always going around the map buying a car and its confusing because the side jobs icon looks the same as the the vehicle icon and you can't have camos on your guns and you can't buy hover cars in this game it's 2077 come on now even GTA 5 had that, and that game wasn't even set in the future and better vehicle control and crafting. I should be able to craft more than one item at a time. and there is no subway stations or trains the way fast travel Works in Red Dead Redemption 2 the train will automatically take you to your destination, in cyberpunk instead of using trains and Subways stations they teleport you to your destination. and it breaks the immersion of the game. I would love to look out of the train and see night City. and more romanceable characters I would love to romance Blue Moon.

The Hunt mission appreciation post (minor mission spoilers)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 06:51 AM PDT

This game gets so much bashing (in most cases rightly so) that I feel like it's only right to give appreciation to some of the things done well.

In my opinion the side storyline missions are on the whole really good.

I'm talking the side stories for Judy, Panam, River etc

I'm in particular thinking about how disturbing, tense and awesome The Hunt mission of River's story was.

Did it last night and it was genuinely quite chilling storytelling. I spent a lot of time reading everything in Randy's room, on Andy's website, etc and it formed really good characters without ever really meeting them.

I also always appreciate missions that dont end in a traditional "boss" but still have a climax. Breaking into the farm was tense and did that.

There's so much jankiness and unfulfilled promise in this game, but it's clear a lot of love went into many aspects and it makes me genuinely sad that they weren't given the time to make the whole game of a standard they clearly wanted and were capable of.

    I calculated V's height. Here's the method I used.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2021 05:59 AM PDT

First, please allow me a little foreword as this is actually quite a straight forward topic and if I just spitted out the number it would lose the charm. If you're here just for straight facts, feel free to jump to the relevant part of this post, but for the real connoisseurs there will be a short introduction to this absurd topic. Also, while this is partially a shitpost, it's built upon a strong factual basis so if this doesn't get enough attention I have successfully wasted 2 hours.

At this point I've seen quite a few discussions about V's height and I've also been wondering myself, however I haven't seen any exact answer anywhere. So I ran a search here on reddit to see if I missed some post that looked into this on a deeper level than the typical yo dude, V's kinda short, eh? and the inevitable yeah bro you got a point there. Found an interesting post by u/Former-Moose who was apparently working on a light-hearted presentation for his friends and needed some help calculating V's height and most importantly the penis length. In the discussion that was immediately sparked under such impactful post there quickly occured a proper brainstorming session where the brains from all over the planet tried to figure out what's the solution to such complex problem. Many good suggestions could be found there, such as locating an in-game banana or using the vinyl records to scale other objects, but it led to a dead end as male V's estimated height was then calculated to be just mere 134,62cm. Quoting Former-Moose here: assuming vinyls are 12 inches in game leaves V at about 4 ft. 5 in.

That was interesting, because now there were three possibilities. Either Former-Moose made a mistake, or the vinyls are purposefully enlarged to make easier to collect them from the ground or, and this is by far the most interesting theory, the whole world of Cyberpunk is stupidly small and only the vinyl records are matching the size of objects in our world. This would basically make the whole Cyberpunk universe just a weird analogy of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's travels, wouldn't it?

But here I thought, no, come on, as much as I love the comedic potential of that absurdity, there's gotta be more reasonable outcome to this. So I tried to think of a better object that could be usable as a scale. And honestly, it's quite obvious and took me like 45 seconds to figure out. Hmm, so maybe I overestimated the abilities of Former-Moose's commenter council, after all. They also forgot quite an important characteristics of unerected male penis - its size is heavily and I mean heavily dependable (nothing like first-hand experience, right?) on outside conditions such as temperature and to figure out proper penis size you really need it to be erected.

Now, as I said, I quickly realized what is the object we need for this. As a proper narrator of chess match analysis I'll give you a couple seconds to try to figure out the continuation by yourself. Okay. And now for those who just want to enjoy the show, there's Johnny's Porsche. It's a 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo, the 930 model. It's not hard to find its dimensions - its height is 1320mm. For the Americans in our audience, go learn metric system because it's far superior to some lame feet and inches and I won't bother with conversion into your weird units (drops mic).

The only thing I had to do now was to head to photomode and take few screenshots and then head to my next-gen graphic editor Microsoft Paint to count those pesky little pixels. While taking the screenshots I kept in mind that it's vital to keep both V and the Porsche in equal distance from the camera so the different perspective won't mess with our measurements. I definitely didn't want to see values equally ridiculous like the 134,62cm that Moose measured.

Please note that I'm playing as female V because the voice acting leaves male V down in dust and according to my absolutely biased and irrelevant opinion, the story seems tailored more towards the female perspective. So logically, I measured Valerie. For all you Vincent dudes out there, no worries, using my advanced methodology you can figure out your height and pp length ez ppz.

Here are the screenshots and height calculations:

Frontal height comparison: x.png - Disk Google

Estimated height - 168,4cm. Estimated measurement deviation - quite high.

Side view height comparison: photomode_18032021_111943.png - Disk Google

Estimated height - 163,0cm. Estimated measurement deviation - low.

Side view height comparison 2: photomode_18032021_111952.png - Disk Google

Estimated height - 160,4cm. Estimated measurement deviation - quite high.

Using the street art as a reference point:

    V: photomode_18032021_111508.png - Disk Google

    911 and V's height estimation: photomode_18032021_111404.png - Disk Google

Estimated height - 165,7cm. Estimated measurement deviation - low.

With the data I've gathered I think it's clear that female V's height is somewhere in the 163 - 165cm territory.
