Anybody else find the writing to be cringey as hell? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 08:28 PM PST By writing I mean the dialogue, rather than the plot points. The latter seems fine, if only in a generic hollywood blockbuster sort of way, but between one-liners like "I love to kill!" and "Finally someone I can FIGHT!" and a guy named "Dum Dum" telling me to "plant it", I just can't take this game all that seriously. So much of the game feels like it was either written by an 11 year old that's trying to sound "hardcore", or a 55 year old that's trying to sound hip. I can't decide which. [link] [comments]

The game is not dark or gritty enough? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 01:35 PM PST I think one thing they got wrong with this game is the more fun/bright/comical nature of the game. Its very light-hearted feel to it. When playing witcher 3 it can feel depressing at times, sure more desolate world but even games like watch dogs 1 had a dark depressing feel at times, fallout does it well to. As does Deus ex Maybe wasn't the approach they were going for. All the colours, and menus, and borderlands type guns with over exaggerated stereotype gangs and so on, the game has more a GTA vice city fun feel to it rather than a GTA IV dark serious vibe. The game is good dont get me wrong just think for me at least be better more serious, dark, gritty feel to it... [link] [comments]

The old trailers make me so emotional looking at them now...... Posted: 04 Mar 2021 01:47 PM PST I have enjoyed Cyberpunk a ton. despite all the bugs and glitches I have been able to get a lot of fun out of it and have already invested almost 100 hours into the game. I can freely admit the game is a myriad of broken promises and dreams but will still stick up for it citing the story and engaging environment. yet when I watch gameplay trailers from E3 and the promotional material, hell even just looking at the news articles with all the features they said they would add in. it almost brings me to tears. the fact that it could have been so much more. I was watching a review of the game from a channel by the name of The Act Man and watching him list off all the features promised and comparing the shown gameplay to the actual gameplay. its so sad and so disappointing, watching this vibrant world i had dreamed about immersing myself into for years be stripped away into the harsh reality. I suppose the reason i have played the game so much is every so often i experience that immersion and get incredibly invested, only for a glitch to show up or my game to freeze. and then i spend the next hour trying to get back into that immersion. some of the parts of this game are so amazing. Pyramid Song is such an awesome level and is up there with Mushrooms in the Deep, Pillar of Autumn and Into The Abyss for some of the best designed and engaging levels i've played through and I thought the final cutscene in The Star was amazing. but were were promised an ocean of content just like this, and while this ocean is as wide as the Atlantic, its about as deep as a paddling pool. I like CD Projekt Red but when i watch the old trailers i become so overcome with emotion about what the game could have done. the funny thing is. take a bunch of Panam and Johnnys lines out of context and they can just as easily be directed at the high ups at CD Projekt who ruined this games potential. sorry this seemed a bit directionless. I just wanted to express how much I have enjoyed the game. yet how much I mourn for what could have been........ [link] [comments]
