Hey Choombas,

With launch right around the corner, the moderating team has made some changes and additions to the subreddit's rules.

First of all, we are simplifying the way that the rules are presented on the subreddit. Rather than detailing every specific point of why we remove comments and posts, (was too much text and frankly, overkill), we have made much more clear and concise descriptions. Safe to say this game is gonna be phenomenal and a real innovative step forward in open world games the likes of which we haven't seen since GTA 3.

Alright, gang. Now that I've seen the physical copies of the game out, and reported previews popping up online, it's HIGHLY likely that we will see the game on Dec 10th. (squeals!)

You don't need to do anything fancy, just leave a comment. There have been many times in my life that kindness has kept me from drowning. I am happy and able to do this.

NightCity.io Interactive Map for Cyberpunk 2077

after a couple months of silence i am back to finally show you some progress on the Night City map project. earlier this summer, with the help of edgerunner, i got in contact with the talented programmer, /u/deviousdrizzle who runs maprunner and we started working together to bring this mapping project to life. the original nightcity.io site was replaced with a fully functional interactive map! see below:

NightCity.io

// v1.0 FEATURES //

• track what you find in cyberpunk 2077

• collapsible menu

• desktop/mobile support

• settings menu with new cyberpunk-themed colors for you to choose from

• support links for donations and connection in the cyberpunk community

• codex coming soon

// v1.0 DETAILED PATCHNOTES //

• brand new redesigned site from the ground up

• completely redesigned map from before, includes a lot of missing pieces like south pacifica

• menu that collapses in/out

• menu functionality with toggle buttons for zones, places, people, + loot

• menu contains districts that toggle on/off. districts will highlight on mouse hover

• menu functionality with a show all / hide all toggle feature to filter out everything on the map

• places contain specific entries we know exist in the game; corporations like arasaka and the afterlife bar

• pins that are clicked on will pop up with it subcategory, description, found toggle (semi-hides that pin), and shareable link to copypasta that location

• map features zoom buttons in/out

• map features two types of views; simple + detailed. a more detailed view will give you names that change on zooming in + out

• nightcity.io works on mobile! this works exactly like the desktop site but uses 2-finger touch to allow for pan + zooming in

while v1.0 is very exciting for us and has been a long time coming since january (wow), there are still features that will be implemented soon. we are working on getting this out before december 10th if possible. please see below for a list of what we are working on:

• night city daytime theme

• countdown clock for cyberpunk 2077's release

• registration + log-in for new users that will allow you to keep track of your progress. right now the site works with cookies that keep track what you filter in and out of the map, your color settings, etc.

• coordinate system

• gang heatmaps

• continuation of pins + new categories once the game is out

• updates + corrections to map designs (rest of the northside industrial district and badlands)

• a fully-functional codex; you'll be able to explore items like weapons, characters, + missions

So from the recent trailer, it looks like we got to see V moving in to their Watson-based apartment. It got me thinking about how each lifepath might react.

Streetkid V: looks at the cardboard boxes All my old houses fit in my new house!

Nomad V: Four walls, and a roof!? I shall live like a king!

Corpo V: looks around the apartment, and starts crying

As a Corpo, V would have had a condo in an Arasaka run building, they would have been eating fresh food, driving a company car. Now? In some craphole Watson dump, eating synthesised food made from krill and insects, driving a broken down Mai Mai.

That's just sad.
