| How much does V know? (Do we even know?) Posted: 07 Apr 2020 04:36 PM PDT Super weird question, but do we have an idea of how much V knows about Night City and its inhabitants before the events of the game? Sometimes there can be ludo-narrative (game and story) dissonance between a player who's never seen a city or world before, and a character who's grown up immersed in that world, and knows every character, gang and person? It can be kind of fun sometimes to match the two up, where games like Vampire The Masquerade treats the player as a newbie, and will explain almost everything to them, whereas Titanfall 2 explains almost nothing, and assumes you know what's going on. Going into VTMB blind is good fun, as the game explains it all, and you don't need to read the bible, but if you did know the world, it might feel patronising to be forced to play as this clueless fledgling. Whereas if you didn't know anything, but the game only gave you answers for "Yeah, I know what these things are" that can be kind of weird, and not sit well. Posted: 07 Apr 2020 04:26 PM PDT The latest IGN news live had an audio issue where they accidentally played the audio for what seems to be a cyberpunk trailer. Lines such as "hey V you alright?" And her responding "let's do this" can be heard. New trailer in the coming days?... Edit: The female voice (presumably V) says "Johnny". [link] [comments] |
