Last week, the book club's topic was the book Neuromancer. We hope you all had a chance to watch it during the week. Please discuss what you thought of it below! How do you see its influence in cyberpunk media today? How has it aged over time? Do you think we'll be able to take a similar role to any of the characters in CP2077? As well, last week we posted a poll to vote for this week's book club, and the winner is: Akira! Akira Is both a manga and a movie. The manga was made in 1982 and the movie in 1988. You've probably seen this art from it, so if you've ever wondered where it's from, now's your chance to see. Please vote on next week's book! (Options: Altered Carbon S1, Blade Runner 2049, Upgrade) If you want to see something else in the vote for an upcoming week, please tell us in the comments! Also, if you want to talk about some other cyberpunk media, feel free to make a post about it today. Just be sure to include some level of detail/discussion, as it won't be related to CP2077, and we don't want it to be an excuse for low effort posts. [link] [comments]

What Character Background/Affiliations Are You Considering? Posted: 11 Mar 2020 06:31 PM PDT I'm still debating which way I want to go for my first playthrough. Part of me wants to go full Silverhand and be a fuck-the-establishment rockerboy. But then the part of me that'll be going to law school for business and IP law pushes me towards doing a corpo run first. No matter what, I already know I can't play it just once. What are y'all debating or leaning towards? [link] [comments]
Does anyone know if there has been an update on the netwatch login password? Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:21 PM PDT I remember a while ago someone found the username but i can no longer remember it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Mar 2020 12:50 AM PDT Ok, Choombas, I know some decker around here can make this into perfect gold. I'm more of a troubleshooter, myself. If there's trouble, I shoot it. I know there's some truly great creative types around here, though, I've seen your work. And if CD Projekt is inspired to get this group into their upcoming masterpiece, well, all the better. When i comes to exploration: delevelled, levelled or combination of both world? Posted: 11 Mar 2020 05:59 AM PDT While back one of ( former) CDPR designers asked people what they think should happen when player headshots enemy ten levels of higher than you. Essentially, question on how to handle combination of exploration, progression and difficulty , something a lot of rpgs always struggle with. You want to give the player a sense of rewarding improvement, overcoming more difficult obstacles, with the game not blindly throwing you into impossible ( too difficult) situations and still making the world feel open, "inviting" to explore. Delevelled ( where all npcs and all objects/containers in the world) is the most immersive and more for players looking for sense of strong char progression. Negatives are it narrows down exploration, replayability ( as most player will always go with same route) and it can be frustrating for freeroam ( you will constantly run into hitpoint/damage sponges and lot of times this is poorly telegraphed to player). This is something like in older rpgs like Gothic. Levelled is where everything levels with you ( TES: Oblivion, best/or worst example). Probably easiest to implement, and world is completely open to you. Downsides are this being completely unimmersive ( come back 100 hours later to that rundown Scavenger hideout: they are all now as tough as elite Arasaka mercs and equipped with high end gear), poor progression and difficulty more of a flat line. Zoned with level ranges is sort of combination of both. When you enter an area, npcs are scaled to your level, but within set/logical restrictions ( with every type of enemy and level coming with min/max range...Scavengers lvl 5-10, Animals 15-20, etc ). Enemies can be replaced by higher level/"tougher variants" ( that look different and come with better gear) instead of just increasing their basic stats. For objects it can be done similar: more important/static, secondary containers/RNG within ( logical) limits. This is something like in Skyrim/Fallout 4. ( Witcher 3 was kind of similar, but poorly implemented: it had levelled gear, but static enemies, so they tried to "fix this" with de/buffing them based on difference to player level. But it only made things worse, as the player could easily outlevel them, making quests/encounters/rewards unrewarding). You get a sense of progression, difficulty doesn't have too extreme falls or "spikes", while has that "go wherever you want" sense of exploring, for the most part. Ideas on this? Personally hoping for last option, second would probably be the worst. [link] [comments]

[Cyberpunk Wednesday] Show me your favorite cyberpunk art! Posted: 11 Mar 2020 01:31 AM PDT Seeing as the theme of the day is 'cyberpunk Wednesday', I thought it would be a great opportunity to share our favorite cyberpunk art. There is a ton of great pieces out there and I'm sure there's plenty I haven't seen yet. Here's some of my favorites!: Link 1, (All of Josan's art is amazing and worth looking at!) Link 2, Link 3 Also, if you want to talk about some other cyberpunk media, feel free to make a post about it today. Just be sure to include some level of detail/discussion, as it won't be related to CP2077, and we don't want it to be an excuse for low effort posts. [link] [comments]
My pre-order just got canceled and life is awful Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:59 PM PDT I must have been one of the first. I pre-ordered the limited edition within minutes. I had three locations to chose from in my country, one of them was Gamestop. I thought that was a safe bet. It was not. All Gamestop stores are closing up here, with all pre-orders now confirmed as canceled and we've been told there is nothing they can do about it. Apparently had the game not been delayed they would have been able to fulfill our orders, but not anymore. Feels bad man. So bad. I suspect Gamestop will just route their reservations with CDPR to another country where they still operate. Hope it's one of you guys that get the opportunity to buy mine. I just wanted to share my pain and misery. Game over, man. [link] [comments] |
