    Night City 3D model (unofficial)

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 11:46 AM PST

I tried to recreate Night City based on my interpretation of the information we currently have been given by CDPR. I apologize for the subpar quality as it is my first time using SketchUp. Would love some feedback and criticism if you have any.

Also, many thanks to /u/devianaut and the people over at "The sheer scale of Night City" for their interpretations.

Will Techie actually be a distinct playstyle, or just a supplementary one?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 11:10 AM PST

We've seen a little over an hour of Cyberpunk gameplay so far (at least, those of us who weren't lucky enough to attend an event), and the game is looking pretty damn good in many respects.

However, from the very start (or, rather, since 2018), they've promised the game will have three distinct playstyles: Netrunner, Techie, and Solo.

Their "excuse" (not that they need one) for only having these three, and not the full suite of classes from 2020, is that it allowed them to focus more deeply on them and make them work better in a video game environment. Plus, it'd be tricky to make Rockerboy work outside of a tabletop, I imagine.

That was fair reasoning, and though some of us were disappointed at first, it was hard to argue with it.

But... we haven't seen or heard anything about Techie in a very long time now. Yeah, you can use a spiderbot. Cool. Is that it? What actually sets them apart? Do they just craft better? Yes, the class system is fluid, but there are still a few distinct "paths." Netrunners sneak and hack. Solos punch, shoot, and smash. It's the same deal with a Bethesda game, really. They always tout how you can be anything and do anything, but usually, you funnel yourself down one of three playstyle paths: stealth (melee or ranged), full-frontal combat (melee or ranged), and magic.

So, to repeat the title question: do you guys think Techie will be a distinct playstyle in its own right, or just an "Add-on" for one of the other core paths?

For extra credit, do you think Techie will be the focus of the next gameplay demo?

Heads up to Nordic Gamestop, Collectors edition shoppers. [From Denmark]

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:32 AM PST

Just wanted to give all of you Nordics out there, who ordered the Collectors edition through GameStop a heads up.

I was previously in contact with GameStop and they told me they were working on a solution so we could receive the CE, even though they're closing shops.

Apparently they were not able to do it, as I yesterday got a call that I needed to go into the shop and cancel the order so I could get my deposit back.

So if you haven't gotten a call or email yet, you might end up getting it within a couple of days.

This really sucks, as it seems it's sold out every where else. I just guess that's what happens when you shop with GameStop. Thankfully they're closing shop and most likely wont be doing much business in the future.

Will there be minigames in CP?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 08:00 PM PST

Witcher had Gwent and GTA had tons of other minigames playing sports or racing , will there be a twist on the hacking feature or something to kill time. It's based on a board game so some element would seem fitting, it wouldn't be a big neg without it but add some cool replay ability

Will the character creator have exposed genitals or not???

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:01 PM PST

Some articles confirms visible genitals, one even explaining the importance of visible genitals for the transhumanist theme of the game (disclaimer: Mike Pondsmith calls cyberpunk explicitly not transhumanist in his video on the Cyberpunk2077 youtube channel but whatever)

The 48 minute demo from 2018 has pixel blurring, which I could see as a late addition just for the purpose of the demo. But the 15 minutes 2019 demo has the proto-V character model in little red / burnt sienna briefs for both genders.

Can I see my junk or not!?!?
