    Introducing 'Free-Talk Fridays'!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:48 AM PST

    Hey Choombas!

The moderating team has decided to implement 'Free-Talk Fridays' for the subreddit.

    So what does this mean?

Every Friday, the moderating team will strongly reduce our enforcement of rules 1 & 2. (Note that all other rules are still in effect)

This means that you can post anything from your CDPR merch that just arrived in the mail, to something totally off-topic, like what movie you are excited to see.

We hope you like the addition to the subreddit and we'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

    - r/Cyberpunk2077 moderating team :)

No need to be sad over the Cyberpunk 2077 delay. I'd rather it be delayed and be as good as it can be

Cdprojekt's stock market price fall after the delay announcement

You are allowed to be disappointed, that's not being entitled and childish

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 11:25 AM PST

There is a lot of support and love for CD Projeckt Red (and CD projekt also) because of their game The Witcher 3, their followup on the games with updates and DLCs and their promises with Cybperpunk.
They have a great store GOG.com that has no DRM which is a big selling point for PC gamers.
They are arguably the most protected game company on the internet. I won't say whether or not I personally they deserve it becasue it is not my point.

You are allowed to be annoyed when a company fucks up (yes, that is a fuck up, an error, a fail in the journey). That's not being entitled, that is just not accepting a practice that seems to be increasing every year (just like micro transactions and basic expensive DLC's, big necessary day one patches). You are the consumer and you are not facing a monopoly on something you absolutely need to we can to some extent dictate some rules !
Otherwise we would all eat shit and let every game hype up for a bit then just have them delayed or unfinished.
Ubisoft revised their whole strategy because of disappointment from gamers (poor sales on GR).
EA changed the way Battlefront plays and so on.
This message is in this community but it applies to every company, if anything i would excuse CDP more easily because I have always somewhat felt respected as a consumer by them.
They are delaying Cyberpunk from April to September. They announced the release at E3 2019, a year before it coming out. A year is not a lot, 7 years after announcing the game, I would expect a release date to be the point at which they think to themselves "Our game is done. We are polishing now".
Even if their polishing phase needs to be smaller (and it seems not to be), people are paid to gauge those timeframes. This is an error and you it shouldn't happen. TLOU 2, Avengers, Square Enix recently, Uncharted 4. Most of those games are arguably big enough so that the devs can say no to publishers when they are pressured for release dates.

They also just announced they are going to crunch (when asked): "To some degree, yes – to be honest. We try to limit crunch as much as possible, but it is the final stage. We try to be reasonable in this regard, but yes. Unfortunately."
They said they were trying to avoid this because the crunch on The Witcher 3 was "not humane".
I hope i'm mistaken but i don't think their definition of crunch is just "four extra hour per person per week"

They ended up having to cut content from The Witcher 3 because they had too big expectations.
The the transcript sent earlier, the guys from CDP said the game is fully playable and completeso it doesn't seem to be the case but who knows if it's actually true.

I am still very excited for the game and it will probably launch with the Ampere GPUs so now I will have no other choice then to play it on a new gpu (no need to wait) so that's cool. And in the end 4 months is not the end of the world. Just have to stand up for yourself.

We are all adults so we can write respectful constructive criticisms to them. I'm not talking about insults or CAPS LOCK tweets. Just an explanation of why you are disappointed. Don't let their name blind your judgement.
They have earned all of our respect over the years to help them keep it.

Much like everyone lese in this subreddit I'm saddened by the delayed but understand and am happy to wait for a polished game. But heres a thought, we know the games is finished so what if they gave until Sept to give them time. Then they fix up everything and polish and send out a new message. Along the lines of, hey we polished it faster than we expected here's a new revised release date sooner.
