The old-school solution to funding multiplayer long-term: allow private servers Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:54 PM PST I think we all knew that CDPR would have to fund their multiplayer servers somehow. Whether it's microtransactions or subscription fees, people are gonna be upset. It's understandable, we like paying once and getting all the content. So here are my thoughts on how to get the best of both worlds: Let us host our own servers. CDPR can still run their main servers with the official leaderboards and whatnot, and fund them however they need to. In the meantime, people who are more adverse to microtransactions and recurring fees can shoulder the cost in their own way by setting up their own private servers with their friends. I think this would be a great expression of CDPR's values. Plus, private servers have kept games like Age of Empires 2 relevant for over 20 years, and helped make Minecraft the best selling videogame in history. I think the shareholders could be convinced. A friendly reminder to everyone that CP2077 MP is still YEARS away. Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:05 PM PST They said they won't even release anything MP related until AFTER the single-player gets all its content. That can be YEARS from now, people acting like it's right around the corner with all this monetization business. Chill, give it time to clear up. Have a nice morning/day/evening depending on where you live. [link] [comments]

Yea cdpr has convinced me there multiplayer is going to blow Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:48 PM PST If the question of wether or not it's going to have mtx is becoming more likely to be true I'm pretty sure we can all guess the type of multiplayer they're going for. And what want I you to take away from this is not that those type of multiplayers are trash by default in any sense, but that they require experience and time lots of it. Even then your chances of a success story at launch are 30% CDPR may have just backed them self into a corner for the foreseeable future. [link] [comments]
I don't mind having a MTX on Cyberpunk 2077 Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:39 PM PST CDPR track record is amazing. And Cyberpunk 2077? I can already feel how Crazy this game is going to be. They will absolutely give us full-fledged 60 hours gameplay, amazing graphic and KEANU Reeves on their next masterpiece. If they want to monetize it, on the multiplayer "implementation" i don't mind! I really really don't mind! As long it keeps fair, and zero gambling mechanics. Plus, it will be a waste, for a rich universe that had been developed YEARS in YEARS just to be ended in after the stories ended. I know some of you are going to scream at me, saying "YOU'RE THE REASON WHY GAMING INDUSTRY WENT THIS BAD". Well... maybe.. idk. But from my perspective, Cyberpunk 2077 is not a game that deserve $60. It deserve more than that. Maybe $80 or $100. Yet, CPDR choose not to do so, only charging us $60 with no BS edition. They do a lot of "right" thing with Masterpiece quality. So, if there's a way, for me to support them in long term, with MTX based model, "i don't mind." (EXPECT Lootbox mechanics). Plus, i don't think you people that complain about MTX should be angry. You will absolutely get your 60 hours gameplay with amazing thing in it just for $60. You will taste the masterpiece on 2020, which already worth your dollar. So, why even bother whining. As long as they keep producing masterpiece, didn't release half baked game, no loot box crap, fair MTX, idk giving me my money to my beloved studio. I'm not as stingy as most of those people complain. That keep wanting low price but masterpiece quality. Industry is changing, following the good side will only gave you reputation that do little to sustain your studio. Note : You will support MTX on your games too, if you put yourself as dev or studio position. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:04 PM PST I was pretty bored, so I came up with some implants that I would love to see in the game! -Whizzlers: rotating scratchers -Roaster: flamethrower in your wrist -Stove Top: hot plate in your palm -Shock Slap: electric palm -Steels: metal implants in your heels -Flexifoot: flexible "springboard" feet -Springers: springs in your legs to help jump -Aromalyzer: scent/air composition analyzer in nose -Bloodhound: allows you to track scent trails -Sniffer: generally enhances sense of smell -Licker: generally enhances sense of taste -Stimbs: regenerating bones, typically in your limbs -Muskle: reduces sweat production from work -Spitters: modular spit glands (ie. acid, lube, poison, etc.) -Spewers: spitters with more range -Sander: adjustable sandpaper in palm -Shodablade: hidden blades in your shoulders -Slippers: togglable sliding feet -Slimers: turn your sweat into lubricant -Respisavior: toxin filter in respiratory system -Bloodshield: toxin filter in circulatory system -Crusher: hydraulic crusher in your hand -Gripper: grip strengthener -Cobras: hidden "pop out" fangs -Titanitum: toxin resistant digestive tract -Tastetester: identifies food and drink components -Fancemones: makes body odor smell nice -Ripper Licker: incredibly rough tongue (needs a better name though) Well, that was my list. If you have any recommendations for name changes or new implants, suggest them in the comments below. [link] [comments]
How else were they supposed to monetize the multiplayer side? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:14 PM PST Please I would like to know?? Because they're giving free dlc/expansions just like GTA does. So don't say paid expansions as that would divide the multiplayer playerbase. I'm sure cdpr will monetize this game very fairly. But please tell me how you would monetize without mtx's [link] [comments] |
