Hey! This is our weekly FAQ & Simple Questions thread that will be posted at 6am EST every Monday.

Notes: - Use this thread for all of your simple/short questions. - Posts submitted with the question flair will be redirected here. - If you want to post a question to trigger a discussion, we suggest using the discussion flair instead. (e.g a question about lore fits the Discussion flair more than the Question flair)

Each week, we'll aim to add the most frequently asked questions to the thread itself and we'll look for a way to reward members who actively answer questions from other members.

Friendly reminder that glitches did not ruin the game (though they did not help it obviously), it was the general stripped features, broken promises, lies, and general bad design that killed it.

    Posted: 06 Sep 2021 07:44 AM PDT

This post is a final goodbye to the game it could have been, the game we wanted it to be, and while digging up a dead horse to kick again, I might as well get it over with now, and cremate the body.

Regardless of why the game turned out the way it did, can we stop with this idea that glitches caused the game's ills? Like the game all you want, and let NOBODY shame you for it, but this is a clear cut case of Sonic 06 syndrome, think about it for a second!

Sonic 06 was also glitchy as hell, but that only served to hide the true flaws the game had. Glitches can always be fixed, they can ALWAYS be patched up and thus stabilizing the game. But Sonic 06 was bad because of bad gameplay design, broken promises, and the story, unlike Cyberpunk 2077, didn't even have the grace of being serviceable! Nevermind the broken promise of your choices actually mattering beyond a few mediocre endings.

I apologize for returning with more negativity, but I wanted to set the record straight on what killed the game. There are varying views, some facts about management I either missed or didnt mention, and again I stress...its okay to like Cyberpunk 2077, and if anyone shits on you for it, then they need to wake the fuck up themselves.

In short, I really feel bad for the developers out of anyone else. I'm sure the majority of the actual lower class general programmers, artists, designers and so on were genuinely hyped for this game's release, the passion of how grand and ambitious their project was, the way you'd be able to replay it with countless possibilities and great design, the hype, the possible glory...and not only did the botched release surely BUTCHER their morale to a pile of gore and blood, but now they're stuck in the miserable aftermath, stuck endlessly fixing bugs in vain, to make a complete lie of a game at least stable.

Cyberpunk 2077 may be a decent game upon a total fixup, but the lies, broken promises, and bad design have forever tainted it, and CDProjekt Red's reputation is totally trashed.

This game is already beaten bloody, a finely dead horse, but I wanted to at least clear up this one last facet of why the game is considered so bad. You might remember me from a post I made MONTHS ago, and so you might be wondering why I'm here? Because I learned THAT lesson, you know the one, the one that fans of countless other hyped up AAA games felt? The disappointment continues to irk me to this day, and now my PS5 is sitting there, waiting for my birthday to come around so I can finally have a game worth playing on the poor thing.

It hurts, but its been months now, the year is almost over, and I think I'll lay it to rest. Many YouTubers already reviewed the game (beyond just spitting out "glitches glitches glitches" of course), and I think its time I move on.

Rest in peace, Cyberpunk 2077, I devote this last drink to what you could have been.

Let's go back to sleep Samurai, the city hasn't rendered yet...

    Fixing the Invincibility Glitch

    Posted: 06 Sep 2021 11:15 PM PDT

Hey y'all! Just wanted to share some light on fixing the Invincibility exploit if wanted after you've finished, well, exploiting it.

For those of you that don't know, there is currently an exploit starting from the mission "Send in the Clowns" which involves leaving a cutscene early by being in combat and results in you being in an incinvible state, which makes things like XP farming pretty easy. It also persists through Save/Loading and even fully closing the game.

After using this exploit to dodge the grinding of hitting level 50, I wanted to continue my run normally, but was having trouble figuring out how to remove it due to everyone covering how to start it and not how to end it. So I spent about an hour brainstorming and figured out one way to fix it.

All you have to do is simply go the NC Border Patrol, and cross it until you've left Night City. This is a death plane which kills you almost instantly even through the Invincibility glitch. After this simply reload to your last checkpoint and viola! The exploit is fixed on that save file.

Let it be known that once you fix the exploit, the only way to get it back is to go back to the "Send in the Clowns" mission and restart it, meaning that it is a once per save file thing.

Edit: Spelling cuz I'm a dumb

I know Johnny gun is a regular pistol but for some reason it also works off of tech weapons.

    Recommendations for beginners

    Posted: 06 Sep 2021 06:40 AM PDT

After meeting with Vik and getting your first set of upgrades, do as many police and moderately difficult activities as you can. You want to accomplish three things before The Heist quest: 1. pay back Vik, 2. get the double jump for your legs, and 3. get whichever arm upgrade you prefer (go with fists if you want to finish the beatdown quests). Then do The Heist.

After The Heist, do the Heroes quest so you can get the best motorcycle in the game for free. Then do Delamain's quest and all 7 Epistrophy quests. Having the motorcycle will make it easier to do. Doing them will take you all around the city and unlock the fast travel stations.

After this, pick a neighborhood and do all of the moderately difficult quests. Keep doing this all around the city. Doing the main quests will cause V to have annoying glitches more frequently, so it's better to avoid them for now and unlock better gear. You'll go into the main quests later maxed out on street cred and a nearly maxed out character.
