    The thing I actually hate about all endings. (Spoilers)

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 08:59 PM PDT

    So the endings have been controversial for their general dreariness and the fact that your actions don't matter over the fact that V dies in the end no matter what.

    My big issue isn't with that, rather with V's behavior towards his friends after the game. I grew really attached to the NPCs and I love pretty much every one of them. Pretty much no matter what ending you choose you just kind of blow people off.

    If you go to the badlands it seems like you only told Vic and Panam obviously knows. Aside from that it's obvious that Judy, Rogue, and Kerry at least have no idea where you are and you aren't talking to them. It's kind of bullshit that the characters I care about and who my V would want to stay in contact with get just ignored and dumped by him. Especially Judy, who deserves every drop of friendship (or love) you can give her.

    This is why I absolutely despise the Johnny endings. In all of the other endings you sort of interact with a few people, but Johnny just ditches everyone without even telling them why. If you romance someone (Judy) it's even worse because they have no idea why "V" just suddenly disappeared and stopped talking to them. Only Rogue and Panam figure out what happened depending on the ending but aside from that Johnny doesn't even have the guts to explain to all of your friends that you decided to go beyond the wall.

    I'm just so disappointed and sad how all of V's friends that I've enjoyed interacting with throughout the game get treated by Johnny or V.

    This sub has a fundamental problem with criticism and a lot of people here think they are infallible

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 05:14 PM PDT

    I am probably going to be downvoted to hell but fuck it.

    Basically what the title says.

    After the game came out, a lot of people were quick to point out the things that were supposedly cut from the game. And guess what? I saw those lists too. I also hated that. I was like "Damn, this shit looked cool, why did they cut it" and so on but a few weeks passed, and by doing my own research, and I realized that most of them were utter bullshit.

    You know the "promised but missing list" by u/SpikeCraft?

    That list is mostly bullshit. It does make some valid points. But 95 percent of it is is bullshit. It complains about things that are in the game. Things that CDPR never promised. Things that are just straight up objectively untrue.

    But almost nobody caught up. Everybody was riding that hate train so nobody cared about doing some research and finding out whether that list is true or not.

    And if you think I am lying or anything, I am not. I can even give you examples.

    The list says that we were supposed to be able to use the SpiderBot in other missions apart from the Heist one. And points it out as a promise. And guess what? It is a lie. CDPR said months before the game came out that we won't be able to use that. There are posts prior to the game's release where people talk about it.

    Or what about the "1000 different NPC routines" bullcrap. It is quite the popular one. It gets referenced all the time. In BeatEmUps video, in Crowbcat's video and so on. And guess what, again? That is also a lie. CDPR never said that there will be 1000 different NPC routines. They said NPC will do random stuff from the pool of actions they have created.

    Sure the AI of this game is terrible, even by RPG standards, but why try to lie about it, when you can use honest arguments.

    Or hell, if you want another example, we can talk about the lifepaths. And how CDPR lied about them and so on. A lot of people say that lifepaths only change dialogue and the introduction to the game? And guess what, for the third time? That is exactly what CDPR said in the NCW. They said that you will be getting a different introduction to the game, and each of these lifepaths will give you certain benefits through dialogue and so on. Like in the mission with Meredith or other gigs like Women of Lamancha.

    The casual argument against this is that "but they said it would be meaningful" and that brings me to another problem. The fact that people took vague marketing terms as promises is so telling. Sure,they said it would be meaningful. And maybe the lifepaths weren't meaningful to you. But why focus on that specific term, and not talk about shit that devs were explicit about.

    Because it doesn't fit the narrative. And the moment you point it out, you get called all sorts of names. "shill" "fanboy" and so on. People expect you to believe them, without them providing any sort of proof. Because that is how much they believe their bullshit. They think anybody who doesn't agree with them is "delusional". How pathetic is that?

    And do you know what pisses me off the most about this situation? CDPR lied. They straight up lied about the state of the game, and their "next gen" AI, and those two things are completely valid stuff to criticize but people still feel the need to add shit to the fire. Because outrage sells. Moderation on the internet is non existent. Video games, according to the internet, are either masterpieces or "trash". And you gotta appeal to one side. But honestly, up until this point, I haven't seen any other game with discussions this toxic.

    Recently CDPR put out a notice about how dev information was leaked following the cyber(heh) attack couple of months ago? And I don't really care if you think CDPR is an evil company or whatever but those are real people. People with livelihoods who could have potentially got their bank data (or maybe something even more important) stolen. And even then, people were still complaining about a fucking video game.

    So the crux of what I am saying is this;

    CDPR lied. It is important to note that. However, it is also very important to understand what they lied about and not believe every single article that you see on the internet. And apart from that, stop harassing other people over a video game. It is childish and pathetic. Stop calling other people shills because they don't agree with your criticism of the game.

    I finally got to play the game and here are some honest thoughts.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:35 AM PDT

    I was quite excited for the game's release as I was paying close attention to the content CDPR was releasing but once the PC required specs released, I figured I would wait until I got my new video card to play. Given that I was using a 980 Ti at 1440p, I wanted at the very least a 60+ fps experience, and thankfully I got my hands on a 3080 Ti.

    I'm playing on patch 1.22 where I had hoped most of the bugs would be ironed out but there are still plenty of bugs in the game. I would average about 6-10 per hour. None of them being game-breaking but definitely impedes the immersion and momentum.

    The development of the game feels rushed. My main dislikes would be:

    This game is not an RPG. It is a fairly linear story with few true meaningful decisions. Even judging this game as an adventure game, at times I wondered why they provided so many dialog choices, as many were just there as fillers. It reminded me of Fallout 4's dialog options where many dialog options were just "yes, yes, sarcastic yes, or no".

    NPC's are quite bland and lifeless. They are just used to fill the space of a beautifully designed setting, but even the setting isn't used to what was promised, in terms of complete exploration.

    The police system seems pretty pointless. Even with their ability to spawn nearby instantly, being able to drive away from the wanted system so easily makes the police system behave so primitively. The experience reminds me of Watch Dog's police system where your playable character could swim into the ocean and be freed from the police's pursuit.

    Combat feels sluggish and bullet spongey. I recall an interview where CDPR mentioned they would avoid bullet sponge behavior but I found it to be prevalent through most of my encounters. If this was not the case for you, maybe I wasn't speccing my weapons correctly, which I admit may not have done correctly. The AI of the enemies were not so bright and the shoot from cover system would not work correctly at times, making the fights really frustrating.

    The story feels all over the place. So many characters were introduced as if you already had an entire game's worth of time with them. Going through the campaign made me feel as though chapters were missing and in my personal opinion, the side missions didn't add much to the world at all.

    The performance is disappointing. Despite running the game on enthusiast hardware, having performance issues should not be the case. Whether it be spaghetti code or the game demanding too much, the game should still be designed to run on older hardware at an acceptable level. I would have preferred my 3080 Ti to run at 100+ fps at all times but I can live with it going to ~60 fps. With my 980 Ti and my friends trying to play the game on the RX 580 and older hardware, this game was barely able to reach 30 fps at 1080p. I also feel so sorry for those playing on consoles as they should not play a sub-30 fps experience.

    I do have to give credit though to the visual aspects of this game. The setting can look amazing at times. The weapons, clothing, and vehicles are all a work of art. Johnny Silverhand looks kinda derpy but I find something humorous about it! The music does not suit my tastes, but I can still say it is good music.

    Reflecting on my time with the game, if given another year for CDPR to work on the game I believe that I still would have not enjoyed the game so much. I found it to be just passable as a game, and something that I may or may not return to as it sits in my library. Sure, the extra time would help with polishing out many bugs and kinks, but that time would not substitute the numerous features that were missing, primarily the cut content, police system, true RPG system, and more. I do not hate the game but I do not love it either. It's a shame that this game has left a mark on CDPR's reputation but here's to hoping they make better choices in the future.

    Thanks for reading!

    CDPR at E3?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2021 12:06 AM PDT

    Any chance that CDPR will show up today? I know that they have appeared before in Microsofts E3 and it seems reasonable for them to show up today for DLC, next gen update or even Expansion announcements as they have been silent for quite some time now. What do you guys think?

    When will this be fixed!?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 11:44 PM PDT

    I'm playing on Series X and the game crashed my whole console. Like I couldn't even open the dash board to quit the game. I had to restart my whole console. I get that they aren't fully focusing on bugs for future updates but how has one that bad not been fixed yet. People standing in tables I can deal with but crashing my whole console? C'mon man!

    1440p DLSS Quality fix

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 09:36 AM PDT

    Hi all,

    TESTED ON 1440p - may also work on other resolutions, for other resolutions you will need to calculate the sharpness parameter on your own

    Since I've bought CP2077 I was concerned about how the game looked blurry compared to non-dlss settings.

    At first, I thought that it just "comes with the territory".

    However, after researching the internet, I have found the fix for 1440p blurriness.

    In my case, the impact was hugely positive in regards to sharpness and overall texture quality.

    Kudos to Nexus mods and DOGMA1138, BlueCraftFR, and ElGuien link to the solution:

    DLSS Mirror Fix and DLSS Sharpness at Cyberpunk 2077 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

    As the first step:

    >- go to ...\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc- make a back up of rendering.ini- open the original rendering.ini and copy paste below:
    >
    >[DLSS]
    Enable = trueEnable
    CustomMipBias = true
    EnableMirrorScaling = true
    MirrorScaling = 1.000000 Sharpness = 0.500000

    Next step:

    BTW, if you are having problems with flickering, you can fix it without losing the sharpness by setting the sharpness value according to the formula:
    Sharpness = -log_2( DLSS Scale Factor )
    The DLSS Scale factors are:
    Quality: 2/3Balanced: 0.58Performance: 0.5Ultra performance: 1/3
    -----
    So for DLSS quality at 1440p, it is:
    -log_2( 2/3 ) = 0.5849625
    So you put Sharpness = 0.5849625 in your ini file.
    -----
    To calculate it you can put it in wolfram alpha.
    It's important to use enough decimal places to remove rounding error, because that's what causes the flickering.
    This formula comes from NVIDIA's recommended mip bias (often called LOD bias) for DLSS, which CDPR has not implemented in Cyberpunk.

    Remark from my side:

    MirrorScaling = 1.000000 (default -1 half/quarter res)

    I have swapped the value to -1.000000 to negate the FPS loss.

    Attribute Recomendations

    I'll probably only get one play through so I want to pick my attributes based on what dialogue options they will open up.

    Do you guys have recommendations for what attributes will unlock the most content/options?

    Current Attributes: 3 Body, 3 Int, 4 Tech, 6 Reflex, 8 Cool
