You guys, I finally found it. Followed a sprinting NPC right to it. Platform 69 ¾.

30+ Hours after doing the mission with him he still follows me. We do everything together

Don’t know if anybody else found this secret, but I was just exploring when I found an openable door that lead to an elevator. I started getting the chip malfunction effect, it started raining, and this music started playing. I’ll putting the location in the comments

Some screenshots I took. Sometimes I just drive around and listen to the music.

Did anyone else get the feel that the main story ended rather abruptly and a bit soon?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 09:32 PM PDT

I loved the story and found it to be pretty good, but when I did the mission where you meet at the fancy place and begin Act 3 afterwards, I kinda got a bit of whiplash since the game felt as if the story would be going on for a bit longer but then stopped and kicked into the ending stuff. I had been doing all the side content first and was saving the story for last so as to not bust up the flow, since the dialogue, or at least my interpretation of it, implied there was going to be quite a bit more to the story, but then it kinda just stopped. Anyone else feel like this? I felt that if I didn't do all the side content first, I could've beat the story in a few hours, what're all your thoughts?

Edit: Sorry about poor phrasing by the way, I just realized I repeated myself quite a bit

    Cyberpunk Easteregg(?)

I’ve been exploring cyberpunk’s cut NCART (train) system since December 2020 with noclip, here’s what I’ve found

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 12:16 PM PDT

Hey gang, there's so so much left over content from the planned NCART system which never made it into the finished product. Lots of this content is visible without any mods, but some of it was found using noclip.

    • Firstly, the NCART trains initially had a carriage on top of the track and a cart below. The below carriage was removed in the final game, but stations which would have utilised the two cart system are still useable.

    • For example, outside V's apartment there is probably the only surviving NCART station with a working lift. This station has two useable levels, which doesn't make sense with the current trains, but it does make sense when you remember there was a carriage below. This station only exists as a fast travel point now.

    • Nearly every station has a large empty room behind its locked doors just beyond the unplayable area. Nocliping through the fast travels barriers and past the doors, some stations house a poorly lit interior with basic textures. I don't have a clue what this meant, some have it some don't. Most of those which do have these rooms are often connected to tracks which are high above the ground, so perhaps this was planned to house lifts.

    • The fast travel metal detectors preventing the player from actually entering stations was possibly planned to be just a metal detector. Beneath the standard barriers in the Arasaka subway system exist duplicated barriers but with the text "security please enter individually" Perhaps these barriers were once in place to prevent the player carrying weapons onto the trains.

    • This same NCART station is the only one seen to go underground. Many parts of tracks dip under the map, but only this one is actually modelled as a tube station. The waiting platform behind its barriers is completely walkable and also houses NPCs which wait for a train that never comes.

    • There's also broken lifts in this station which are taped off, but you can see that their path aligns very nicely to the waiting platform. There's even the correct geometry to suggest that they planned on stopping at the platform below. Probably cut a while back and CDPR actually wanted to make it looked planned, so the police tape is a depressing, but nice touch.

    • You can find plenty of waiting rooms dotted across parts of the train track. These rooms have 3 locked doors, empty but walkable interiors, and are housed in glass. Many of these can be found out of bounds, so perhaps these were areas where the player would wait for their train.

    • Interestingly, these waiting rooms are often some distance away from the actual NCART entrances. Perhaps the entrances we have now would have taken the player into a large interior, possibly with some lifts, and allow us to eventually end up in a "waiting room". This is just theory though.

    • To back this up, Megabuilding 9 has been partially converted into an NCART building. Noclipping into this building shows 4 turnstiles dotted in each corner, possibly leftovers from a large interior.

    • The track connecting to this building also has a platform with 3 flights of unused stairs. These platforms are a feature of mega buildings, but the stairs are not. Again, this seems to allude to large station interiors which existed as actual gameplay areas.

    • Pacifica has a completely nonsensical NCART system. The only bit of track leading into the area ends abruptly in mid air, no connecting lines, no station, it literally doesn't exist.

    • The track leading out of Pacifica however does make sense. This is near the stadium. The station is housed in a huge glass dome which looks pretty much useable. There's doors to enter the dome, with a large seating area next to it. This entire area is locked behind turnstiles just to the right of the useable station but looks like it should be useable.

    • This same station also has evidence of a cut underground section. Clipping through the barriers leads you into decent amount of floating train track under the map. This makes sense since the station has stairs going down into what was probably some sort of tube station.

    • Considering this underground track is pretty much right below the overground track, perhaps this utilised the previously mentioned 2 cart system, but it's a stretch. Either way Pacifica is DISGUSTING for cut content.

    • One NCART station is absolutely massive. It's just past Pacifica, and has what is essentially two stations in one building. This area has food vendors and shops all around it, so it's a busy area. Climbing three flights of stairs you can find the standard fast travel barriers, but clipping into the station reveals some basic corridors and interiors which connected the two opposite stations. This is hard to describe, but it feels unique and stings a load.

    • You can clearly see that lots of trains clip into buildings which cover the tracks. Again, probably because of the two cart system and maybe because new buildings were placed when the devs knew trains weren't a part of gameplay.

    • There's a section of NCART track housed in a beautiful luminescent cover. This cover is rainbow coloured and is a treat to walk across. The track also dips into a section which goes underground. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like this is close to the previously mentioned Arasaka tube station, so perhaps it was once connected.

    • You can kind of ride on trains but it's buggy as hell and many of them despawn at random points on their journey.

    • By far one of the best stations you can find has a huge walkway with a glass roof leading up to the doors. This place is so god damn cool and partially backs onto a restaurant. The entire area is packed with NPCs and many NCART maps. There's even arrows and cool AR signs which point the player towards the station.

    • The track connected to this old station floats above some buildings. Noclipping into the station area shows some geometry underneath the map which looks to be remnants of a disused lift system. It was probably planned to take the player up to the track. This also connects to a landing pad on a small roof, so Christ knows if this meant something much bigger was also planned.

That's about all I can think of from memory, I've put too many hours into exploring the NCART system and would absolutely love CDPR to implement it with free DLC. So much of it is still there, it just needs finishing and tidying up. Feel free to check out my YT "MZK" for some footage of these findings. Cheers chooms, stay safe x

    Crafting feels exceptionally unnecessary.

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 11:24 AM PDT

I can not be the only person that feels like Crafting has actively ruined the game's potential for realism, right?

Here is the direction from where I am coming with this:

In the world of Cyberpunk, Gun Retailers are as common as clothing stores. V is a professional Solo Merc that deals with Guns every day.
My issue is not the idea that V would have the knowledge or ability to craft, upgrade, upkeep or even customize Guns, but the idea that V can just create a Gun or specifically Grenades or Ammunition fairly easily on the fly.

Now call me a cynic, but I feel like there is some lost potential here that could have made the game a lot more immersive when it comes to the day-to-day mundanity of a Mercenaries routine in Night City.

I personally didn't like crafting ammo in the game and much rather seek out gun stores in my area to stock up on Ammunition before I engaged in a Gig or even a Main Mission, but the availability and ease with which you can craft these things from the start make Gun Stores nearly redundant and only an occasional stop on your way.

Obviously, I am not a Game Developer, I am not the general Gaming Audience that expects things like Crafting in Open World games, but the features lack of boundaries and near useless skills in the Skilltree make me think that the feature of Crafting Weapons, Ammo, Grenades, Clothes (for some reason) was one of those "I played a different game on the weekend. We should add this into our game." situations that were simply assumed to be there instead of finding unique ways to change the standard to make it fit into Cyberpunk 2077.

Obviously, this would not be a ranty complaint post on Reddit if I didn't write an essay as "The Idea Guy" in Games Development, but all I really have to say about this issue is that I would have wished for a more hands-off approach to Gun Crafting.
At worst, make it tied to some Workbenches or something..
V can obviously repair and even customize a Gun.
V, no matter who you play as has a deep understanding and skill when it comes to Weapon handling.
I just do not like the idea of the game Quality of Life taking away what could have been a really neat, but most likely tedious, part of a Mercs Routine or Priorities.
