Posted: 15 Feb 2021 12:19 AM PST ...and the reason why they are just another game developer to me is that they are still making excuses and pretend that only the old consoles have issues while the new consoles and PC versions are perfectly fine. They still don't acknowledge how hugely they have fucked up, cops AI, AI in general, cut content, lackluster side activities, no depth at all, etc. - this is why I don't care anymore about CDPR. | Posted: 15 Feb 2021 02:44 AM PST If this game was advertised as some action game with RPG elements maybe I wouldn't bitch about it because I would have been warned. However, they advertised this game as "be whoever you want in Night City". After 50 hours and near 100% of the game (MQ+side Qs), I have never felt I had much freedom. I am just a vessel for Johnny, I am overshadowed by him. It is not my story, but reliving his past and trying to escape an inevitable death. What is more, most gigs and side quests are shallow as fuck, except Henry's, Panam's, Judy's and River's chain quests. It is just errands, kill, invade, steal rescue hostage. Getting on again to the first point, I actually hated the inclusion of Keanu, because they made him too important, to the point he is the protagonist, not me. If you think about it, some of the important NPCs in the game, for whom you work, are just old friends of him, i.e., Rogue, Kerry, Nancy... The people I started to care about, Evelyn and Jackie are killed immediately in the game (I hate that they cannot be saved in an RPG game), and then I have for the most part to work with people related to Johnny. Also, the relationship with him is so rushed thanks to chapter 3 being so damn rushed, when he suddenly becomes a likeable person from a completely obnoxious shit. I remember a cringy moment when he asked me if I would take a bullet for him... Why would I do that? You are in my mind, degrading me whenever I do not make the choice you would, you treated people in the past like shit... Moreover, you tried to kill me initially... I really dunno, the writing at times was out of place. [link] [comments] |
