Anyone else excited about the whole relationship mechanic?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 02:43 PM PDT

So I've noticed how in some games, the whole relationship/friendship deal has no real meaning to it, if that makes sense. Like, you do some quests, retrieve some object, and then what? Nothing. The actual relationship doesn't grow from there. It just goes stale, as if nothing ever happened. Either they're just there to be another companion to have around and help fight, or you just never see each other again.

With Cyberpunk (from what I heard atleast), it's going to be much better. First off, there's no meter telling you if they like it dislike you. And, you won't actually know if you did something that they dislike, unless they tell you. You'll actually have to learn their likes and dislikes.

Also, not everyone is instantly attracted to you, or wants to be your friend right off the bat. This type of stuff actually depends on your life path, gender, play style, etc. Going off of this, if you do successfully form a relationship with one person, it might ruin a relationship with another person.

Also, these relationships will probably grow as you spend more time with them, do more missions with them, and stuff like that. Yeah, there'll most likely be personal missions they might have for you to further grown the relationship. But once you successfully become platonically or romantically involved with them, I think you can still have meaningful moments with them - instead of just never talking or seeing them again.

Sorry if this is all over the place, just wanted to get it all out now!

Can we just talk about how there's more than one reload animation per weapon?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 08:11 PM PDT

And not just like "this attachment changes the reload," it's "when you reload, it's not the same every time."

I think that's really cool, and something that developers should do way more often. The only other game I've seen that in is for the M1 Garand in BFV.

There has been a lot of speculation about this individual, turns out she’s a twitch-streamer lol

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 05:43 AM PDT

Do we know if braindance is gonna only be for story purposes or if we will be able to go out and buy some in the open world as a side thing?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 03:19 PM PDT

What I mean is if you can just go to a bar in night city and just watch one for the sake of it. Will we be able to do that or will they be only for quests and such?

Chinese streamer/youtuber quit her role as a VA in cyberpunk2077 due to online backlash

Chinese streamer/youtuber quit her role as a VA in cyberpunk2077 due to online backlash

Recently CDprojectRed announced on their weibo account that more Chinese youtubers were going to be added in game as in-game commercials or voice actors.

The announcement caused large discussion on Chinese social medias. Some people expressed their concern about if the game needs so many E-celebrities, while most of the topics were questioning individual youtubers about their professionality in voice acting and past drama.

One of the youtubr, 渗透之C菌, who was caught in the center of the discussion, received a large amount of criticism during the past few years for multiple online drama including backstabbing friends, her lesbian relationship with another female youtuber, online bullying and her "sell-out"to TLOU2, the game that was overwhelmingly criticized by players on Chinese social media.

渗透之C菌 is among one of the top charted streamer/youtuber in China, she is most famous for her playthrough videos of horror games and video game commentary. She is currently a UK resident who received her MD in the United State.

2 days later she wrote on her social media saying that she quit her role as voice actors.

    A simple translation:

I am very honored to be chosen as an ester egg streamer in the game and do voice acting for some NPC. I love the game thus I accepted their offer and finished my recording at the beginning of 2020 in CDPR UK studio. Sadly, I received large amount of disputes from online community after the announcement, thus I have quit the role and requested CDPR to remove my voiceline from the game. I hope this incident will not undermine players' anticipation to the game.

The announcement on CDPR's Chinese social media has also been deleted and replaced with a video explaining how many time and work the studio has put on Chinese localization and voice acting (more than 10k hours, according to the video).

I have seen news about english/spanish youtubers representing roles in game and the local community were seemed to be ok with that. It appears that the backlash from Chinese community is more about their likeness/hatred of individuals rather than the decision of adding youtubers into the game.

    Cyberpunked

So my wife knows how hyped I am for Cyberpunk and today is my birthday so I wanted to share some of the things she got me.

    Samurai Poster from Displate

Have this right above my computer in the picture below.

Cyberpunk World Lorebook, Cyberpunk Special Edition Xbox One controller, and Cyberpunk Red to hold me over till 2077 comes out.

Let hope we make it past day 91 haha. Also I'm fairly new to reddit so I'm not 100% sure on the proper flair to use for this post, hopefully I'm not using the wrong one.

Will/should there be a game mechanic where you can track your relationship or standing with the various groups in game?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 07:51 AM PDT

I mean, akin to Fallout: NV, will we be able to see in the menu how the various gangs, or corps, or nomads feel towards the V we play? Do you think it would improve the game or just detract from freedom of choice and player fluidity?
