- Gotta love The Onion...
- Last year I qualified for the Cyberpunk Cosplay Contest finals. Today after 5 months and 400 hours I finished my completely remade Samurai jacket. More pics and details in the comments.
- I know why V slotted the Relic in his head.
- Continuing the Fall Guys Banter. Make it happen.
- Added some cyberpunk patches to my vest. I know it doesn't compare to the cosplay jackets that some people have made, but I'm still proud of it.
- Pretty sure i just found a Cyberpunk easter egg in one of my other games
- Night City Wire Episode 2 will release in a few days, said by CDPR Chinese Community Manager in Gfest Streaming Show
- I'm saying this now Night Corp is SHADY, why are the estimate ranges so big and why is the biggest value estimate as much as Arasaka

I know why V slotted the Relic in his head. Posted: 05 Aug 2020 11:19 PM PDT This has been bugging me since last year when the E3 Trailer hit. Why did V put the chip in his head? CDPR are pretty good about coming up with reasonable plot conceits that don't feel forced or underwritten, and since this entire main story revolves around the chip (aka the Relic) being in V's head, I keep coming back to why he put it in his head. After all, the chip didn't belong to him. He was just stealing it for whoever had given the job to Dex for V to carry out. Therefore, putting it in his head (especially when he doesn't know what it could do - it could be Black ICE for all he knows) seems suicidal. Unless... not doing that would be worse than doing it. Let me back up a little to explain. I firmly believe that Jackie's death is a fixed plot beat, and I believe this is going to further explain why. Jackie dying gives weight to the act of V putting the chip in his head, but the why of doing that is important. And what is that why? The Relic is temperature sensitive. I am going to explain this chronologically so you can understand how I've come to this conclusion. Prior to the mission that Dex sends you on to go steal the Relic, you can do a Braindance involving Yorinobu Arasaka [1]. It is revealed that Yorinobu has stolen the Relic and concealed it in a temperature-controlled environment. Specifically a cold one. Later on, when you and Jackie go to steal the Relic, you can see Jackie carrying a big container when the two walk into the Arasaka building in disguise, and also when V and Jackie are sliding down the exterior of the Arasaka building after presumably stealing the Relic.[2] I wondered why they would need such a large container for something so small, unless... Dex told them it needed to be temperature controlled. Then after V and Jackie have stolen the Relic, V ends up at the No Tell Motel. However, we can surmise that things as portrayed in the 2019 trailer don't actually match the story of the game so perfect anymore. Specifically that both V and Jackie needed to wear suits to get into Arasaka (each player who demoed the game said this), we see the two of them wearing said suits in The Gig trailer, and so on. Yet in the 2019 footage, V and Jackie are just wearing regular street clothes. We can assume this was probably for the benefit of the viewer and not so much an attempt at accuracy. Yet despite this T-Bug has something: a big container.[3] And you know what else? It's a Trauma Team container, and if you noticed in The Gig trailer Trauma Team are the ones who are trying to shoot you and Jackie to pieces while you rappel down the building. I am not going to speculate on Trauma Team's involvement further since this will just become even more bloated than it already is. Either way, I believe we can assume a few things happen. The Case is destroyed and V, concerned with the Relic becoming too hot, slots the chip into their head. This would tie back into the original portrayal of 2019's depiction of these events quite nicely as well. Assuming Jackie's death is a foregone conclusion, V wouldn't toss away his sacrifice by risking the chip's (now without its temperature-controlled environment) destruction. So with his friend's death heavy on his conscious, and no other options: he puts the Relic in his head. Leading to the events of the No Tell Motel, where Dex (or perhaps even Evelyn?) betrays V, kills them, but in doing so activates the Relic and in turn, restoring functionality to the Johnny AI/Memory Engrams on its circuitry and kicking off the main story. Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:48 PM PDT One of the perks of the way Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be doing character interactions is that you aren't locked into a face-to-face UI where ALL you can do is choose a dialog option. You can look around, mouse over another person to get the options for them, instead, or even just walk away. In the gameplay vid, V walks near Wilson, a guy who starts telling her about her 0.45 that he's got ready for her, but then V just walks past him without interacting and he mutters something like, "Alright, see ya later" as she gets in an elevator. Another time, V walks by a guy trying to sell her a BD tape (likely) and she could have either said "I'm interested" or something like, "No thanks" but instead she just walks off and the dialog options fall away. When confronted by Meredith Stout and her guards, when V looks at the guard she has the (foolish) option to try to grab the gun of the guy interrogating her, I think, and then she looks back at Meredith and the dialog options for Meredith show up. When V is talking with Royce in the Maelstrom HQ, I seem to remember a visible timer bar counting down during one dialog session. All that to pose the question... when free-roaming, how likely do you think it will be that you will be distracted (SQUIRREL!) by some random NPC or encounter that distracts you from the actual story quest you're allegedly pursuing? Do you delay the main quest to investigate this potentially-time-limited encounter/event? Do you just let it lapse and potentially "lose" it? Like, Jackie wants you to meet him, where he will send you to talk to Dexter Deshawn... but what's to have stopped you from going to your ripper doc FIRST? Both objectives were in the "quest log" / task list whatever it's called. If you see your ripper doc first, then obviously Jackie won't sit in a chair and go over Dex's chip while you're getting surgery because, well, you won't yet HAVE the chip... If you skip Jackie and go straight to your Ripper Doc, will Jackie remain where he was waiting for you indefinitely? Will you come out of the Ripper Doc's office to find Jackie has arrived there and rebukes you for "wasting time" when you have a job on the line? More generally, while watching the gameplay vid for the billionth time, as V was walking from her apartment to meet Jackie, I saw street vendors and all kinds of NPCs and just ENVIRONMENT that I wanted to look at... sloooowly... I just hate it when a game rushes me from Point A to Point B. I recognize that they HAVE to do that, sometimes, to preserve a sense of urgency and 'reality' but it can still be annoying when I want to look at / do something OTHER than what they want me to do. Cyberpunk 2077 features quite a number of international influencers (streamers / youtubers) Posted: 05 Aug 2020 12:28 PM PDT Obviously a marketing tactic, which I've seen recently Chinese comments disliking it. Polish youtuber in game ad Spanish Streamer in game ad Jesse Cox and Cohh Carnage in game NPC with voice acting Chinese streamers in game ads Second one Apparently there are more NPCs unrevealed. Will probably feature more but the art quality for some is rather poor like the Chinese one. [link] [comments]

What happened to digital version of The World of Cyberpunk 2077 Posted: 05 Aug 2020 02:50 PM PDT So a while back i pre-ordered The World of Cyberpunk 2077 from Comixology it was due to releases sometime near the start of August. I just logged in to my account to check its exact release date to find i could not see the pre-order under my account, and i also cant find it listed on there web site or app anymore. But if i go to the store page for it, from a URL from my browser history i just get to a page that says the content im looking for is no longer available. Does anyone know whats happened to it? has the digital version been canceled? [link] [comments]
Grammatical errors in the lore book Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:29 PM PDT I just started reading the lore book and I'm loving it so far, but I also notice a lot of grammatical errors and poorly-structured sentences. I don't know if this is intentional or not. Do you think I should inform them about this? Maybe I can send a message to Dark Horse (the publisher) or something? Idk man [link] [comments]
