Yorinobu, heir to the Arasaka empire, is Saburo Arasaka’s youngest and only surviving son. Yorinobu cut ties with his father after a heated argument. He sought destruction, but soon realized that the corporate giant’s power was impossible to defeat — at least from the outside.

    Prologue Outline (spoilers)

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 12:36 PM PDT

So like a lot of people, I have been looking to absorb any little tidbit of information. I have started to notice some connections with the brief glimpses we've had into the prologue along with what has been said by those who participated in the 4 hour long demo. So here is how I think the beginning of the game will go (guesses/implications in bold text):

0: Start as Nomad, Street Kid or Corporate.

Path 1a: Nomad is in the badlands, gets visited from the sheriff-type in the car shop. Pressured to "leave his town", V is already planning on getting into Night City. V is given an "in" into Night City by pulling off a job alongside a night city local named Jackie Wells. The job seems simple enough, smuggle a living iguana into the city. One thing leads to another and the two are on the road to Night City in V's Nomad car. Eventually they are stopped at the Night City border by corporate security (Arasaka or Militech) - which leads to the chase through the large farm. (Unsure about the rest), leads to Path 2.

Path 1b: Corporate starts in Arasaka tower. V pukes in a sink from the stress of doing risky internal corporate espionage for their higher up (Mr. Jenkins) against Jenkin's rival Abernathy. Jenkins commands V to kill Abernathy for stealing the promotion he wanted and sets you off to Lizzy's to speak with Jackie Wells. This is where V takes the Aerodyne and lands on top of the bar. After he enters the bar and talks to Jackie about what he needs to do, he is approached by a Japanese corpo and two "sumo wrestler bodyguards" (presumed to be Kaoru) who then proceeds to strip away your access to the Arasaka network and enhancements, leaving you blind as you are presumably fired from the company. Leads to Path 2.

Path 1c: Street Kid starts in Night City. They are given a job to steal a fancy car from a fixer of some sort. They are given a device that will allow them to take control of the car and bypass its security. You find the car and jump in, using the device to gain control over its functions. As you are just about to speed off, you yourself become carjacked by Jackie Wells. But before he can take it himself, NCPD rush in and arrest V and Jackie. Kaoru and two painted-face bodyguards enter scene and state they don't want to deal with any legal procedings and to just have the cops break Jackie and V's legs and throw them into the ocean. NCPD apparently hate corpos just as much as anyone else, so they decide to rough up Jackie and V instead and dump them in an alley. The two wake up together and form some sort of pact to work together. Leads to path 2.

Path 2: Apparently a 6 month period passes. This is likely to justify V being more familiar with the streets (if Corporate or Nomad). Presumably they are tested by someone (seemingly T-Bug) to rescue the girl from the scavs (2018 demo). At this point they do the first mission for Dexter DeShawn - retrieve the Flathead (this is what happens during the 48 minute demo footage).

Path 3a: You buy the flathead and don't speak to Meredith Stout. Either its a nonviolent mission; or perhaps it results in Militech attacking the factory.

Path 3b: You buy the flathead and do speak to Meredith Stout and accept her offer. This results in what happens in the 48 minute demo (Maelstrom accepts the bugged 50K credit chip, plugs it in and it results in Miltech accessing the factories systems and frying anyone connected.) Likely causes you to gain positive reputation with Militech.

Path 3c: You buy the flathead and do speak to Meredith Stout and accept her offer; but alert the Maelstrom. This results in Militech attacking. You betray Militech and gain a negative rep with them; but you gain rep with the Maelstrom.

Path 3d: You attempt to buy the flathead, but shoot the Maelstrom gang leader in the head. This results in a battle against the Maelstrom that skips the boss fight with the exoskeletal suit. Presumably this path happens no matter if you do or don't speak to stout.

Path 3e: You buy the flathead and do speak to Meredith Stout and decline her offer. Presumably if you tell the Maelstrom they will wig out. If you don't tell them, perhaps militech attacks after tracing where V goes to.

Path 4: Either way, you gain the flathead and return to Dexter DeShawn. He reveals he plans on performing a heist in Arasaka tower to gain the chip. At this point you are introduced to T-Bug (who I believe is tech support) and told to visit Judy to gain some internal info on the Arasaka tower. Perhaps a Corporate V can ask "Well I already know my way around" to which Dexter suggests he does know his way around the tower, but not where the chip is which is another objective of the braindance.

Path 5: I think at this point the player visits Judy and does a Braindance of a Arasaka executive. I think I read somewhere its implied its Yorinobu Arasaka himself and that the scene shown in the trailer where you see Adam Smasher is actually from the Braindance. You eventually find out where the chip is hidden.

Path 6: The heist itself. Little is known about it, but it likely has two paths: Silent and Loud. I believe if its silent, you get killed by someone else. But if its loud, you are all over the news and get killed by Dexter. I don't think Jackie dying is guarenteed and is based on your decisions during the heist. Either way, you end up dead but with the chip planted into your head. You wake up a short time later, revived by the chip as you meet Johnny Silverhand.

And I think thats how it will end up being. Obviously there is a lot of holes in the synopsis here and I did omit some specific details, but I feel like it will be pretty close to what I have presented here.

As for the chip, there is a lot of directions they could have gone. The chip seems to be some sort of "Mind backup" thing that can somehow revive people from the dead despite suffering bodily trauma. I believe it is intended for the elder Arasaka (the one who is 158 years old), stolen by the younger Arasaka (Yorinobu), but actually contains Johnny Silverhand as some sort of dead-mans switch to get back at the elder Arasaka due to his hatred for the corporation. Johnny is probably hidden on the chip to the degree that no one is aware of his presence. Likely when you are revived by the chip, he may present himself as disappointed that you aren't in Arasaka. Perhaps the chip can't be removed without killing V, so they are compelled or convinced or something to aid Johnny in ousting Arasaka from Night City.

Do you think my outline is close? Am I missing any critical details? What guesses do you have to fill in the gaps of information we seem to have about the early game story?
