So far we have seen very little how the game looks like at night. If this is the quality that will be in the final product - I am super impressed. What a nice view - both from inside and outside.

    Real Life Rockerboys?

    Real Life Rockerboys?

Turns out, rock music was banned in the USSR. No, seriously. You could go to jail for listening to The Beatles. The KGB correctly assumed that if you loved rock you didn't give a fuck about the communist propaganda, and the police would often swoop in on partying teenagers and beat the crap out of them.

And so the USSR rock artists were the real life rockerboys. They had to perform in underground concert halls, and still somebody would rat out the location. They would get arrested and thrown in jail or psych ward. Some of them died under suspicious circumstances. Tapes with their songs would get copied and exchanged in secret (you ever heard of Rock on Bones)?). They had to phrase their lyrics very carefully to avoid accusations - and yet all their songs somehow manage to sound like a big fat 'fuck you' to the totalitarian regime. It was hardcore af and really inspiring.

I don't want this to become a novel, so here you go.

Top-5 real life rockerboys/bands of the USSR (Russian names in brackets).

    • Viktor Tsoi (Виктор Цой) and his band Kino (Группа Кино) - the king of Russian rock, supposedly killed by the KGB... which only made him 100x more popular. Thirty years after his death, you can still see people tag 'Цой жив' ('Tsoi lives') on the walls and hear kids yell his songs. Basically, Viktor Tsoi = Johnny Silverhand. Search Виктор Цой, Viktor Tsoi, or Группа Кинo, and make sure to google translations.
    • Mashina Vremeni (Машина Времени) - band from Moscow. Their fan base was so huge the police was actually hesitant to act against it.
    • Nautilus Pompilius (Наутилус Помпилиус) - these guys have a more gothic and surreal vibe, kind of like Pink Floyd. They were banned for propagating sex and decadence (whatever that means).
    • Voskresenie (Воскресение) - another legendary band, and I'm too lazy to keep up the descriptions.
    • Picnic (Пикник) - this band from Saint Petersburg developed its own distinct style, and you can hear they were influenced by eastern folk music. Really good lyrics, too.

P.S.: I'm surprised so few people outside the former USSR know about these bands and the fascinating stories behind them. For thousands of pages in Russian, Ukrainian, and Polish, I could find very little info in English.

TL;DR: Viktor Tsoi = Johnny Silverhand.

Any info on a PS5 upgrade?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:24 AM PDT

Back when CDPR announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting a free upgrade for anyone who bought the game current gen on Xbox Series X. However, I haven't heard anything about a PS5 upgrade. Did they announce anything about that or is it still unknown. If so, do you guys think a free upgrade on PS5 will be available sometime in the future or not?
