    Introducing 'Free-Talk Fridays'!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:48 AM PST

    Hey Choombas!

The moderating team has decided to implement 'Free-Talk Fridays' for the subreddit.

    So what does this mean?

Every Friday, the moderating team will strongly reduce our enforcement of rules 1 & 2. (Note that all other rules are still in effect)

This means that you can post anything from your CDPR merch that just arrived in the mail, to something totally off-topic, like what movie you are excited to see.

We hope you like the addition to the subreddit and we'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

    - r/Cyberpunk2077 moderating team :)

By the end of cyberpunk 2077 they should show your character sheet at the beginning of the game and at the end to show you what type of character you played

Localization settings will ONLY be all or nothing

I know this topic might be a bit redundant as the devs official response is in the original thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/e6r5bp/we_can_make_v_speak_any_supported_language_and/ ) that was made on the subject but since the title of said topic still mistakenly claims that you can set V's voice independently I felt this deserved it's own topic for the sake of clarity and to try to prevent the spread of misinformation.

    From Lilayah herself

"A word of clarification here :)

You will be able to switch entire VO to specific language if it will be included in the version of the game - so for example, you can play with Polish VO and English text. IT WON'T be just V.

    Sorry for the confusion :)"

As well as further context that was also posted within the comments of the other thread.

As said I realize this info was posted in the comments of the other thread but I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it it's own post for the sake of clarity.

Please, people - temper your expectations

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 01:42 PM PST

Let me preface this by saying I am absolutely not trying to dull the hype, shit on CDPR, or anything of the sort.

Cyberpunk2077 is shaping up to be very exciting. I've followed it since the infancy of this subreddit and I haven't been this hyped for a game in, quite frankly, a very long time. I fully expect it to be absolutely amazing and a testament to the gruelling grind that CDPR have put in - endless hours working on forging the foundations of the game and polishing it, hopefully, to a gleaming gem.

    That being said:

    It is just a game.

    That's all.

In the past few weeks, I've seen some borderline ridiculous expectations from members of this subreddit who seem to think that Cyberpunk2077 will be a fully fledged simulation where you can limitlessly do everything you want. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but that really isn't the case. Cyberpunk2077 promises to be an open world, story based RPG experience akin to the Witcher 3, and that is exactly what you should expect. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less. If the game is anything even remotely as good as TW3, I think its safe to say that we will all have an absolute blast playing it.

I just ask that you temper your expectations to a reasonable level to avoid disappointment. If you do that, you will be free to enjoy the incredible world CDPR has worked so hard to create.

    Cyberpunk dlc discussion

This is just for fun. But imagine if they did a blood and wine type dlc. What location would you like them to visit. Japan would be fun and it would focus on arasaka backstory

Do you guys think or know if it will be possible to upgrade all the specs/skilltrees.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 03:07 PM PST

I wish we could use some effects on V’s voice so that it can sound robotic, or mimic someone else’s voice.

That would be a nice idea for a quest btw

I WORRY ABOUT THE POTENTIAL LACK OF A UNIQUE ARTSTYLE

I WORRY ABOUT THE POTENTIAL LACK OF A UNIQUE ARTSTYLE

    Hello guys

Just as a side note, I'm a huge cyberpunk fan and I'm super hyped up for Cyberpunk 2077. I made a ton of super-detailed analyses on the Cyberpunk forum to satiate my hype

However, I have one important reason to worry.
The artistic direction. The artstyle they're going for.

Looking at many screenshots, demos, trailers, fanarts and cosplays - I'm afraid (but I really hope I'm wrong) that the game's artstyle is going to be kind of generic.

    https://preview.redd.it/pkodvno8v4341.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=24619fb91c788ca5d969e51c7870517d7a997560

Look at this. What does this tell you about this artstyle? How does it feel?

It feels broadly cyberpunk, right? With a broadly 80s tinge.

But does it feel Cyberpunk 2077? That's the question I'm asking myself.
How will Cyberpunk 2077 distance itself from other positions in the genre? Blade Runner was unique. So was GITS. So was Akira.
How is Cyberpunk 2077 going to create a cool, unique artstyle going for it that will distance it from any other generic fan-art anyone could make on DeviantArt?
Because sadly, I'm not seeing anything spectacular and "Cyberpunk 2077" if you get what I mean. I don't feel like it's the Cyberpunk 2077, I feel like it could be just titled "a cyberpunk-style character" and no one would bat an eye

    Anyone having the same worries?

Look at the view over here. Why does it look so bland and washed-out? So sterile and clean, despite trying to showcase some "poverty" and dirt (I guess?)?
It really weirds me out. Am I the only one here?

Is Green Day music in Cyberpunk 2077 ?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 11:36 AM PST

Green Day will perform some special video game inspired song on VGA in few days. They will also have some big announcement to make. Some ppl speculate that they will be in Cyberpunk bec their singer has very similar voice to song you hear from Deep Dive video. Check the song that starts here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FknHjl7eQ6o&feature=youtu.be&t=96 IMO it makes sense, they could be punk group in the city.
