- RIP Syd Mead, the illustrator who was largely responsible what people in the 80's thought the future was going to look like, thanks to his work on Blade Runner, TRON and Aliens. (Probably Cyberpunk)

Got a bigger TV specifically for Cyberpunk and The Last of Us 2 Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:19 PM PST I got a Vizio, which sucks as far as smart TVs go. But the quality and picture is beautiful. It makes CDPR's Witcher 3 gorgeous on the PS4. I recommend a Toshiba TV, which I've always had luck with in the past. I've had all my Toshiba TVs for 6+ years. I recommend a larger TV for CDPR games if you use consoles. It makes it far more immersive! [link] [comments] | ||

Why a time jump all the way to 2070s? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:04 PM PST I understand wanting to progress the timeline from the 2020s and that a new tabletop edition (what would become Cyberpunk Red) which would do that regardless was already being planned when the game was pitched never mind actively developed. But still, five decades is a long time in terms of technology, politics and people's lives. 2050s and the 2070s is the difference between being nearing retirement but still in the field and already in the ground. So why do you think CDPR went for such a big leap? Was it to get a totally fresh slate or just because 50+ years from now sounds more futurey to our 2010s ears? And that 77 rolls of the tongue and looks good on a logo. Although won't lie, is kind of a shame we're missing the Tercentenary. [link] [comments] |
